The Grade 3 PYP Homeroom Teacher is responsible for creating a nurturing, inclusive, and inquiry-driven learning environment that supports the academic, social, emotional, and personal development of students. The teacher will facilitate learning through the principles and practices of the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) and foster students curiosity, independence, collaboration, and international-mindedness.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching and Learning

- Plan, deliver, and assess engaging, student-centered learning experiences aligned with the IB PYP framework.

- Facilitate inquiry-based learning through authentic, concept-driven and transdisciplinary experiences.

- Develop and implement Units of Inquiry in collaboration with the grade-level and PYP team.

- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs, abilities, interests, and learning styles.

- Integrate literacy, numeracy, science, social studies, and other subject areas within meaningful learning contexts.

- Encourage students to develop the PYP learner profile attributes and approaches to learning skills.

- Promote student agency, voice, choice, reflection, and ownership of learning.





- Integrate technology appropriately to enhance teaching, learning, collaboration, and student engagement.

Assessment and Documentation

- Use formative and summative assessment strategies to monitor and support student progress.

- Maintain accurate records of student learning, achievement, and development.

- Provide timely, constructive, and meaningful feedback to students.

- Use assessment data to inform planning and differentiate instruction.

- Maintain student portfolios and learning documentation in accordance with school and PYP expectations.

- Participate in student-led conferences, parent-teacher meetings, exhibitions, and other school events.

Classroom Management and Student Well-being

- Establish a safe, respectful, inclusive, and positive classroom culture.

- Build robust relationships with students and support their social-emotional development.

- Implement positive behavior management strategies consistent with school policies.

- Encourage collaboration, empathy, resilience, responsibility, and respect for others.
