JD: PowerBI Developer

Key Responsibilities

Dashboard & Report Development

- Design, develop, and deploy interactive Power BI dashboards and reports.
- Create visually compelling data visualizations that effectively communicate business insights.
- Optimize report performance and usability for end users.
- Implement drill-through, bookmarks, parameters, and advanced Power BI features.

Data Modeling & Transformation
- Develop and maintain robust data models using star and snowflake schema methodologies.
- Create calculated columns, measures, and KPIs using DAX.
- Perform data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) using Power Query and other data integration tools.
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity across reporting solutions.

Stakeholder Engagement
- Gather and analyze business requirements from stakeholders.
- Translate business needs into scalable BI solutions.
- Conduct workshops and demonstrations to validate requirements and report designs.
- Provide ongoing support and enhancements based on user feedback.

Data Integration & Management
- Connect Power BI to various data sources including SQL databases, Azure services, Excel, SharePoint, APIs, and enterprise applications.
- Collaborate with data engineers and database teams to develop efficient data pipelines.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data refresh and gateway issues.

Governance & Security
- Implement Row-Level Security (RLS) and data access controls.
- Follow organizational BI governance standards and best practices.
- Maintain documentation for reports, datasets, and development processes.

Support & Continuous Improvement




- Provide production support for BI solutions.
- Identify opportunities to automate reporting and improve efficiency.
- Stay updated on new Power BI features and recommend improvements.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Statistics, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in Power BI development and BI reporting.

- Strong experience with

- Microsoft Power BI

- DAX (Data Analysis Expressions)

- Power Query (M Language)

- SQL and relational databases

- Data modeling techniques
- Experience working with large datasets and performance optimization.
- Robust analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Microsoft Azure Data Services (Azure SQL, Synapse, Data Factory, Fabric).
- Knowledge of ETL tools and data warehousing concepts.
- Experience with Python, R, or advanced analytics tools.
- Understanding of Agile delivery methodologies.
- Microsoft Power BI or Data Analytics certifications.
