Must Have

- 6–8 years of hands-on experience in Power BI development and data modelling roles — with production delivery.
- Deep, demonstrable capability across DAX, data modelling, SQL, Power Query, visualisation design, performance optimisation, and incremental refresh as described above.
- Proven track record of building net-new reports and semantic models on demand — not just maintaining existing ones.
- Hands-on experience with at least two of the three Power Platform extensions: AI visuals / Azure AI integration in Power BI, Power Automate flows connected to BI data or agentic orchestration, Power Apps with writeback or embedding.
- Working knowledge of Copilot Studio or equivalent conversational AI tooling — ability to build, govern, and deploy a data-grounded agent.
- End-to-end ownership experience — requirements through deployment, including RLS, refresh governance, and post-go-live monitoring.
- Strong Plus (near-mandatory): understanding of ETRM concepts — trade lifecycle, EOD batches, positions, exposures, P&L; — or equivalent depth in financial services, risk, or regulated industry data platforms.
- At least 70% of overall experience must come from this exact stack — Power BI, DAX, SQL, Power Query, Power Platform, AI integration, and BI governance.



Candidates carrying broad but shallow experience across unrelated tools will not fit.
- Available for incident ownership and on-call support during critical reporting windows — month-end, EOD batch close.

Valuable to Have

- Microsoft Fabric — Direct Lake mode, Lakehouse, Dataflow Gen2, OneLake, and Copilot for Power BI.
- Azure OpenAI Service — prompt engineering, Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) grounded on internal data dictionaries or report documentation.
- Tabular Editor or ALM Toolkit for semantic model scripting, deployment automation.
- Power BI REST API for post-deploy automation, dataset management, and governance reporting.
- Python for upstream data preparation, AI model integration, or automation scripts feeding the BI layer.
- Power Virtual Agents / Copilot Studio — advanced agent orchestration, multi-turn conversation design, and handoff to human workflows.
- Prior experience in commodity trading, energy, risk, or financial services data platforms — understanding of P&L;, exposure, position, and settlement data structures.
- Experience setting up monitoring, alerting, and reconciliation frameworks around dataset refresh, pipeline runs, and automated flow health.
- Azure Data Factory or Airflow DAGs— awareness of upstream orchestration feeding the Power BI layer.
