Pod Leader – AMER Controls Pre-Sales Engineering

This role supports the AMER Controls Pre-Sales organization and plays a key part in managing workload, driving delivery commitments, and helping our teams respond to challenging turnaround times with quality and consistency.

Position Summary

This position is responsible for leading a team of Presales function in India. The person should collaborate with the internal teams, Sales, in country FDE team. Develop and mentor the team to build required competencies in the areas of BMS Controls. Provide specialist support and knowledge to team in the execution of day-to-day activities, cost, and quality and customer service.

Responsibilities

1. Provide technical leadership in BMS Control systems, ensuring high-quality design, engineering, and estimation deliverables.

- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of BMS Pre-sales engineers through coaching, competency development, performance management, and succession planning.
- Drive integrated design and estimation processes to deliver accurate costing, optimized solutions, and customer-focused outcomes.
- Own POD performance by achieving KPIs related to quality, productivity, delivery, utilization, and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with tender requirements, regional standards, customer specifications, and organizational procedures.
- Manage resource planning, workload distribution, and capacity utilization to optimize productivity, mitigate risks, and meet project commitments.
- Standardize engineering, design, and estimation processes across sub- regions to improve consistency, efficiency, and operational excellence.




- Lead quality assurance initiatives, including QA/QC compliance, RCA execution, corrective actions, and continuous process improvement.
- Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and as per technical requirements.
- Monitor project and team performance, ensure accurate reporting and timesheet compliance, manage team conflicts, and support employee engagement and organizational initiatives.

Education & Experience

- BE/ B. Tech (preferably Electronics / Electrical/ Mechanical) with 13+ years of BMS domain experience of which at least 2 - 3 years should be experience in leading a team.
- Experience in the BMS Controls industry is required.
- Good oral, written and presentation skills
- Customer focus and service oriented.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and able to develop strong working relationships inside and outside the enterprise.
- Excellent people skills, persuasive, and assertive character.

- Experience working on AMER-based controls pre-sales opportunities.
- Exposure to design and estimation tools such as AutoCAD, Visio, and Excel.
- Familiarity with SFDC or similar sales tracking systems.
- Knowledge of leading BMS or ELV systems and solution delivery workflows.
