ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented HVAC Planning & Estimation Engineer who will be responsible for project estimation, costing, and planning of HVAC projects from pre-sales stage to execution support.

This role is critical in ensuring project profitability by delivering accurate BOQs, cost estimates, and project schedules, while supporting the sales and execution teams with solid technical and commercial inputs.

You will work closely with design, sales, procurement, and project teams to ensure seamless coordination from tender stage to project execution.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Project Estimation & Costing





- Prepare detailed cost estimates for HVAC projects including materials, equipment, labor, and subcontractor costs.
- Analyze tender documents, drawings, and specifications to understand project scope.
- Develop:
- BOQs (Bill of Quantities)
- Cost sheets
- Rate analysis

2. Tendering & Proposal Support

- Prepare technical and commercial proposals for bidding.
- Support the sales team in tender submission and bid documentation.
- Ensure:
- Accurate costing
- Competitive pricing
- Compliance with client requirements

3. Quantity Take-Off & BOQ Preparation

- Perform quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications.
- Prepare and validate BOQs with high accuracy.
- Ensure proper quantification of:
- Ducting
- Piping
- Equipment
- Accessories

4. Planning & Scheduling

- Assist in preparing project schedules and timelines.
- Develop execution plans in coordination with project managers.
- Support:
- Resource planning
- Material planning
- Activity sequencing

5. Vendor & Cost Analysis

- Obtain quotations from vendors and subcontractors.
- Perform comparative analysis and cost optimization.
- Support the procurement team with:
- Vendor selection inputs
- Cost benchmarking

6. Value Engineering

- Identify cost-saving opportunities through design and execution optimization.
- Suggest alternate materials, systems, or methods without compromising quality.

7. Coordination with Internal Teams

- Work closely with design, sales, and execution teams for alignment.




- Provide technical and commercial inputs during project discussions.

8. Cost Control Support – Execution Phase

- Assist project teams in monitoring budgets during execution.
- Track cost deviations and provide corrective inputs.

9. Documentation & MIS

- Maintain estimation records, cost sheets, and tender documentation.
- Prepare reports and MIS related to costing and project planning.

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE
- 4–8 years of experience in HVAC estimation / planning, preferably in commercial projects.
- Strong hands-on experience in:
- BOQ preparation
- Cost estimation
- Quantity take-off
- Good understanding of HVAC systems including:
- VRV/VRF
- AHU
- Chillers
- Ventilation
- Proficiency in:
- MS Excel – advanced level for costing and analysis
- AutoCAD – for quantity understanding
- Experience in tendering and proposal preparation.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Good coordination and communication skills.
