Roles and Responsibilities:

As a Physical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and executing the entire physical design flow from RTL to GDSII. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including logic design, DFT, and verification, to ensure the successful delivery of highly complex, cutting-edge semiconductor designs.

Key Responsibilities

- Full-chip or block-level physical design implementation, including floorplanning, power planning, placement, clock tree synthesis (CTS), routing, and timing closure.

- Perform physical verification tasks including DRC, LVS, and Antenna checks, ensuring compliance with manufacturing constraints.

- Drive static timing analysis (STA) and work on timing closure, signal integrity analysis, and power integrity checks.

- Implement and optimize power grid design, IR drop analysis, and electromigration (EM) analysis.





- Interface with RTL designers and verification teams to resolve design issues and meet performance and power targets.

- Participate in design reviews and provide feedback on methodologies and tools.

- Work with EDA vendors to resolve tool issues and improve flow automation.

Requirements:

Experience

- B2 (5-8 years), B3 (8-12 years), C1 (12-20+ years) of industry experience in physical design, STA, and/or physical verification.

Technical Skills

- Strong knowledge of physical design tools (Synopsys ICC, Cadence Innovus, or equivalent) and scripting (TCL/Perl/Python).

- Expertise in Static Timing Analysis (STA) tools like Primetime, Tempus, etc.

- Solid understanding of power and clock network optimization, IR drop, EM, and signal integrity.

- Experience with advanced technology nodes (16nm, 10nm, 7nm, or below).

- Familiarity with DRC, LVS, and PEX tools (e.g., Calibre, Hercules).

Soft Skills

- Robust analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
