About SEEDS

SEEDS is a development organisation working towards building resilient communities and addressing challenges related to disasters, climate change, sustainable development, and social inclusion. The role will support SEEDS in visually documenting its programmes, communities, field interventions, events, and impact stories.

Job Purpose The Photographer will be responsible for capturing high-quality photographs and visual stories that effectively communicate SEEDS' work, impact, people, and programmes across different locations and field settings.

Key Responsibilities

1. Photography & Visual Documentation

- Capture high-quality photographs of SEEDS programmes, field activities, events, workshops, trainings, and community interactions.
- Document people, places, interventions, and programme outcomes in an ethical and engaging manner.
- Capture both planned and spontaneous moments that reflect the organisation's work and impact.
- Undertake field visits to project locations for photographic documentation.

2. Storytelling & Content Creation

- Develop visual narratives that support SEEDS' communication and storytelling requirements.
- Work closely with the Communications and Programme teams to understand the purpose and context of each assignment.
- Capture photographs suitable for social media, website, reports, presentations, donor communications, and publications.
- Support photo-based storytelling for impact stories, case studies, campaigns, and organisational events.

3. Editing & Post-Production

- Select, organise, edit, colour-correct, and optimise photographs for different communication platforms.
- Maintain appropriate resolution and formats for print and digital use.




- Ensure systematic naming, tagging, categorisation, and archiving of photographs.

4. Field & Event Coverage

- Cover important organisational events, conferences, campaigns, community programmes, and field activities.
- Coordinate with programme teams before field visits to understand schedules, locations, and key moments to be documented.
- Be comfortable working in field environments and travelling to project locations as required.

5. Collaboration

- Work with Programme, Communications, HR, and other teams to fulfil visual documentation requirements.
- Coordinate with external partners, communities, and stakeholders during photography assignments.
- Provide inputs on visual concepts for campaigns and communication materials.

6. Ethics & Consent

- Follow SEEDS' guidelines on photography, consent, safeguarding, privacy, and ethical storytelling.
- Obtain appropriate consent before photographing individuals, particularly children and vulnerable communities.
- Ensure photographs represent communities respectfully and accurately.

Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree/diploma in Photography, Visual Communication, Mass Communication, Media, Fine Arts, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of relevant professional experience in photography, documentary photography, social-sector communications, media, or related work.
- Demonstrated experience in field/documentary photography.
- Strong portfolio showcasing photography and visual storytelling skills.




- Experience with photo-editing software such as Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, or equivalent tools.
- Willingness to travel extensively to field locations.

- Ability to capture authentic human stories and field realities.
- Strong photo-editing and post-production skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Sensitivity while working with communities and diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Flexibility to work during events and field assignments.
- Good organisational and file-management skills.

Desirable
- Experience working with NGOs/development organisations or social-impact projects.
- Experience in documentary, humanitarian, disaster-response, climate, or community photography.
- Basic knowledge of videography/reels would be an advantage.
- Experience creating visual content for social media platforms.
