HTML QA Specialist — CRM

About the Role

We are looking for a meticulous and process-driven HTML QA Specialist to join our CRM team. In this role, you will be the final line of defence before email campaigns are deployed, responsible for thoroughly testing HTML email templates across all major clients and devices. You will work closely with HTML developers, designers, and the broader CRM team to ensure every campaign that goes out the door is pixel-perfect, fully functional, and free of errors.

Key Responsibilities

Review and QA HTML email templates built from Figma and Photoshop design files, validating accuracy against original design specs.

Test all email templates across major email clients (Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail, Yahoo, etc.) and devices (desktop, mobile, tablet) using tools such as Litmus or Email on Acid.

Identify and clearly document bugs, rendering issues, and inconsistencies, raising them to HTML developers with detailed reproduction steps.

Validate all links within emails — checking for broken links, incorrect URLs, 404 errors, and correct regional link swaps (e.g. CA/US variants).

Check image rendering quality, including resolution, correct asset exports, and proper display across clients.

Review dynamic and personalised content (e.g. first name tokens, product recommendations) for accuracy and fallback behaviour.

Perform pre-deployment QA checks on send counts, subject lines, preheader text, sender details, and UTM parameters.

Maintain a QA checklist and contribute to the ongoing improvement of QA processes and guardrails.

Collaborate with the Project Management team to ensure QA is completed within campaign timelines without compromising quality.

Flag and escalate repeat error patterns to help identify systemic issues in the development workflow.

Required Skills & Experience

Experience in QA testing for HTML email campaigns, with an understanding of how emails render across clients.





Working knowledge of HTML and inline CSS — enough to read, understand, and pinpoint issues in email code.

Experience using email testing tools such as Litmus, Email on Acid, or similar platforms.

Familiarity with Figma and Adobe Photoshop — able to reference design files to validate builds against original specs.

Strong attention to detail with a zero-defect mindset and the ability to spot subtle rendering and content errors.

Experience reviewing dynamic content, personalisation tokens, and conditional logic within email templates.

Understanding of email client rendering quirks, particularly Outlook's rendering engine and its limitations.

Ability to write clear, structured bug reports with supporting screenshots and reproduction steps.

Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple campaigns in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting.

Nice to Have

Hands-on experience with ESP platforms (e.g. Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Klaviyo, HubSpot, Braze) including proof and deployment workflows.

Understanding of AMPscript, HubL, or Liquid templating languages for reviewing agile content logic.

Familiarity with accessibility best practices for email (e.g. alt text, colour contrast, semantic structure).

Experience with version control tools such as Git.

Knowledge of email deliverability principles, including image-to-text ratios and spam trigger awareness.

Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
