Job Title: Manager Payroll, Compliance & Industrial Relations (IR)

Department: Human Resources

Reporting To: Head Human Resources / Group CHRO

Direct Reports: Payroll Team, Compliance Team, HR Operations Team, IR Representatives (where applicable)

Role Purpose

Responsible for leading payroll compliances, statutory compliance, labour law adherence, industrial relations, and employee discipline across all SHM Group companies and locations. The role ensures timely and accurate payroll compliances, zero statutory non-compliance, harmonious industrial relations, and implementation of HR policies while supporting SHM Group's growth and IPO readiness.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead end-to-end payroll compliances for all SHM Group entities.
- Manage payroll audits, reconciliations, and ERP/HRMS integration.
- Ensure compliance with EPF, ESIC, PT, LWF, Gratuity, Bonus, CLRA, Shops & Establishments, Code on Wages, Social Security Code, OSH Code and other applicable labour laws.
- Manage statutory registrations, returns, inspections, and liaison with government authorities.




- Lead Industrial Relations including grievance handling, disciplinary actions, domestic enquiries, negotiations, and dispute resolution.
- Develop and review HR policies, Standing Orders, payroll and compliance SOPs.
- Support IPO readiness, due diligence, statutory and internal audits.

Desired profile of the candidate

- Lead payroll, compliance and IR teams across SHM locations and drive automation and continuous improvement.

Educational Qualifications

- MBA/PGDM in Human Resources (Preferred)
- Master's in Labour Welfare (Preferred)
- LLB (Advantageous)
- Certification in Payroll/Compliance/Labour Laws (Preferred)

Experience

- 10-15 years of HR experience.
- Minimum 8 years leading Payroll, Compliance and Industrial Relations.
- Experience in manufacturing, engineering, marine, shipbuilding or industrial sectors.
- Multi-location and IPO readiness experience preferred.
