Position: OT Technician – Night Duty

Role Summary:

The OT Technician – Night Duty will be responsible for OT-related work as well as night-time patient monitoring, coordination and emergency support across IPD/ICU, functioning as the primary on-ground clinical support during the night shift.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Night Duty / Patient Care

- Take proper handover of all admitted patients from the evening/day team.
- Regularly monitor admitted patients during the night and record vitals as required.
- Attend patient calls and immediately respond to any deterioration, pain, discomfort or emergency.
- Coordinate with the concerned consultant/duty doctor whenever medical intervention or a clinical decision is required.
- Ensure prescribed medicines, IV fluids, investigations and treatment instructions are carried out on time in coordination with nursing staff.
- Maintain proper night-duty notes, patient updates and handover documentation.
- Ensure critical patients are monitored closely and escalated immediately when required.
- Give complete morning handover to the incoming clinical team.

2. OT Responsibilities

- Prepare the OT for emergency or planned procedures during the night.
- Ensure OT instruments, equipment and consumables are available and functional.
- Assist the surgeon/anaesthetist and OT team during procedures.
- Follow sterilization, infection-control and biomedical-waste protocols.




- Maintain OT readiness at all times for emergency procedures.

3. Hospital Coordination

- Coordinate with nurses, consultants, laboratory, pharmacy and other departments for night-time patient requirements.
- Support admission, transfer and discharge-related clinical coordination during the night.
- Immediately inform the concerned senior/consultant about any emergency or significant change in a patient's condition.
- Ensure smooth functioning of clinical operations throughout the night shift.

Important: This is not a conventional OT Technician-only position. The candidate will be expected to take responsibility for night-duty patient monitoring, clinical coordination and emergency support in addition to OT responsibilities.

Any diagnosis, prescription, modification of treatment, invasive procedure, or other activity legally restricted to a registered medical practitioner must be performed or authorized by the appropriate qualified clinician.

Candidate Requirements:

- Diploma/Degree in OT Technology or relevant qualification.
- Prior hospital experience, preferably in OT, ICU, emergency or inpatient care.
- Comfortable handling night duties independently.
- Good understanding of vitals, patient monitoring, emergency protocols and OT procedures.
- Ability to remain alert and respond quickly during emergencies.
- Experience in a cancer hospital/oncology setup will be preferred.

Job Types: Full time, Permanent Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
