About the Role

We are seeking a customer-centric and skilled Optometrist to join our team at a premium optical showroom in Calicut. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting thorough visual assessments, prescribing corrective lenses, fitting contact lenses, and delivering a world-class clinical and consultative experience to discerning customers.

Key Responsibilities1. Clinical & Diagnostic Duties

- Perform comprehensive eye examinations, including objective and subjective refraction (using Auto-refractometer, Phoropter/Trial Frame, Retinoscopy).
- Conduct slit-lamp examinations to evaluate the anterior segment of the eye when required.
- Measure visual acuity, binocular vision balance, pupillary distance (PD), and fitting heights accurately.
- Perform contact lens consultations, preliminary evaluations, trial fittings, and educate patients on lens care, hygiene, and handling.
- Screen for early signs of visual anomalies or ocular conditions (e.g., cataract, glaucoma, refractive errors) and provide timely referrals to ophthalmologists when necessary.

1. Consultative Dispensing & Customer Experience

- Work closely with the retail sales team to recommend optimal optical solutions tailored to customers' lifestyles, occupations, and visual demands (e.g., Progressive Addition Lenses / PALs,



Digital Blue-Coat lenses, High-Index lenses, Polarized sunglasses).
- Address patient/customer queries regarding adaptation to new prescriptions, progressive lenses, and frame ergonomics.
- Troubleshoot customer complaints related to vision distortion, dizziness, or fitting issues with empathy and technical precision.

1. Store Operations & Quality Standards

- Maintain clinic equipment in pristine condition, ensuring regular calibration, sterilization, and hygiene standards.
- Accurately maintain customer electronic records, prescription histories, and optical test data.
- Actively contribute to showroom sales targets through clinical excellence, customer retention, and consultative upselling.

Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor of Optometry (B.Optom) or Diploma in Ophthalmic Techniques / Optometry (D.Optom) from an accredited institution.
- Experience: Minimum 2 to 3 years of hands-on clinical optometry experience, preferably within a reputed or luxury optical retail showroom.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating up-to-date refraction instruments (Auto-refractor, Phoropter, Lensometer, Slit Lamp, Keratometer).
- Communication & Languages:
- Fluent in Malayalam and English (essential for local and premium clientele).
- Knowledge of Hindi is an added advantage.
- Soft Skills: Warm, professional chair-side manners, strong consultative skills, patience, and a well-groomed personal presentation suited for a premium retail environment.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
