Divisional Overview:

The Strategic, Analytics, and Business Re-engineering (SABRE) division houses the Digital Tool Innovation (DTI) team, which serves as Nomura's centre of excellence for technological innovation and digital transformation. DTI is responsible for conceptualizing, developing, and implementing cutting edge digital solutions that drive operational efficiency and strategic advantage across the organization. DTI specializes in creating scalable Python-based applications, Alteryx workflows, Power BI dashboards, and automation frameworks that address complex business challenges across 1,500+ operations users.

The team works at the intersection of technology and finance, transforming traditional processes through digital means and enabling data-driven decision making. Our projects span from process automation and workflow optimization to sophisticated data processing pipelines and interactive dashboards that provide critical insights to stakeholders. The division collaborates closely with business units across Nomura to identify opportunities for digital enhancement, develop tailored solutions, and provide ongoing support for implemented tools.

DTI professionals combine technical expertise with business acumen to deliver solutions that tangibly impact the firm's operational excellence and strategic capabilities. With a growing portfolio of successful implementations—including 150+ Alteryx workflows, 300+ Power BI dashboards, and numerous Python applications—the DTI team is positioned as a key enabler of Nomura's digital future.

Business Overview:

The DTI team manages a comprehensive portfolio of digital solutions spanning SSG, CSG, MO, and IWM, serving 1,500+ operations users globally. The VP, Digital Tooling Initiatives leads the DTI book of work (200+ JIRAs), manages the team, and owns critical programs including Japan DTI integration, new EUC framework implementation, and the Control Uplift Program. This role provides strategic leadership for DTI portfolio management, JIRA governance, regional integration.

The position requires deep technical expertise in Alteryx, Power BI, and Python to guide team members and ensure technical excellence across all DTI solutions.

- Experience: 12-15 years (including 5+ years in digital transformation and 3+ years in leadership roles
- Qualification: B.Tech/M.Tech in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent; MBA preferred

Role & Responsibilities:

DTI Portfolio Management:

- Own and manage the complete DTI book of work across all four business units (SSG, CSG, MO, IWM) • Manage 200+ JIRAs spanning S1-S8 stages with clear prioritization and sequencing • Ensure greater OVS (Operations Value Scorecard) adherence through disciplined benefit tracking and documentation • Send regular portfolio updates to business unit sponsors and senior stakeholders • Conduct governance calls to review progress, risks, and dependencies across the portfolio • Drive timely escalations of risks, blockers, and resource constraints • Maintain portfolio health metrics including velocity, cycle time, and value delivery

Program Leadership:

- Lead Japan DTI integration, ensuring seamless adoption of global DTI frameworks and solutions • Own implementation of new EUC (End User Computing) framework across the organization • Run the Control Uplift Program to enhance governance, documentation, and compliance across DTI solutions • Coordinate cross-regional initiatives spanning AEJ, EMEA, and Americas • Manage vendor partnerships and external resource coordination for program delivery • Track program milestones, dependencies, and success metrics.

Team Management & Development:

- Manage the DTI team, providing leadership, mentorship, and career development • Foster a high-performing culture focused on quality, innovation, and collaboration • Conduct regular 1-on-1s, performance reviews, and development planning • Build team capabilities in Python, Alteryx, Power BI, and emerging digital tools • Manage workload distribution, capacity planning, and resource allocation • Ensure team wellbeing, engagement, and retention • Recruit, onboard, and integrate new team members

Technical Leadership:

- Provide technical expertise and guidance in Alteryx, Power BI, and Python to junior team members • Review technical designs and code to ensure quality, maintainability, and best practices • Set technical standards and frameworks for DTI solution development • Drive technical innovation and adoption of new tools and methodologies • Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide hands-on support when needed • Stay current with emerging technologies and evaluate relevance to DTI portfolio

DTI BAU Solutions Management:

- Manage day-to-day operations of DTI BAU (Business As Usual) solutions serving 1,500+ users • Ensure service continuity, uptime, and performance of production DTI tools • Coordinate issue resolution, user support escalations, and maintenance activities • Manage solution refresh cycles, upgrades, and enhancements • Monitor usage, performance,



and user feedback to drive continuous improvement • Ensure proper documentation and knowledge transfer for all BAU solutions

Governance & Compliance:

- Ensure JIRA governance standards are met across all DTI initiatives • Drive EUC registration, documentation, and recertification processes • Participate in broader DTI developments and strategic planning initiatives • Coordinate with Risk & Control teams on compliance requirements • Maintain audit-ready records for all DTI solutions and processes • Implement quality gates and controls throughout the development lifecycle

Agile Implementation:

- Participate in Scrum methodology implementation with 4-week sprint cadence • Lead sprint planning, retrospectives, and refinement sessions • Manage JIRA workflows including dedicated QC/QA gates • Drive value-driven prioritization and WSJF-based decision making • Implement explicit buffer/expedite lanes for critical business asks • Foster continuous improvement culture through Agile practices

Stakeholder Engagement:

- Build and maintain strong relationships with business unit sponsors across all divisions • Communicate portfolio status, risks, and achievements to senior leadership • Gather requirements and translate business needs into technical specifications • Manage stakeholder expectations and negotiate priorities across competing demands • Facilitate workshops, demos, and training sessions for DTI solutions • Drive user adoption and change management for current tools and capabilities.

Mind Set:

Mandatory

Domain & Technical

- 12-15 years of experience in digital transformation, analytics, or automation • 5+ years managing technical teams (10+ members)
- Deep expertise in Alteryx (workflow design, optimization, best practices)
- Advanced Power BI skills (DAX, data modelling, dashboard design, Power Query)
- Strong Python programming capabilities (pandas, data processing, automation)
- Experience managing portfolios of 100+ initiatives with governance frameworks
- Strong understanding of JIRA, Agile/Scrumban methodologies, and portfolio management
- Experience with EUC frameworks, governance, and risk management
- Proven track record driving regional integration and global standardization
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills
- Understanding of financial services operations

Desired:

- Experience in financial services operations or capital markets
- Knowledge of trade lifecycle, settlements, or middle/back-office processes
- Certifications in Alteryx Designer Core/Advanced or Power BI
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and modern data architectures
