Divisional Overview:

The Strategic, Analytics, and Business Re-engineering (SABRE) division houses the AI transformation initiative, which serves as Nomura's Center of excellence for artificial intelligence-driven automation and innovation across Global Operations. With increasing demand for AI initiatives across business units and regions—spanning 60+ active use cases and 4 BU workstreams—SABRE AI provides enterprise program management, governance, and stakeholder coordination to ensure successful delivery of transformational AI solutions. The division is responsible for managing the end-to-end AI portfolio, from ideation and business case development through implementation and benefit realization.

This includes coordinating ~12 campus hires, vendor resources, cross-functional IT partnerships, and regional stakeholders across AEJ, EMEA, and Americas. The team works closely with Technology, Risk, Legal, Compliance, Finance, and business unit leaders to fast-track approvals, manage dependencies, drive adoption, and ensure measurable business value. With a target of 30%+ efficiency gains and a 3-year transformation roadmap, the SABRE AI team is positioned as a strategic enabler of operational excellence and digital innovation across Nomura's global operations.

Business Overview:

The SABRE AI Program Management function provides centralized coordination, governance, and visibility across the growing AI portfolio spanning SSG, CSG, MO, and IWM. The VP, AI Program Manager serves as the single trusted source for priorities, progress, risk, and cost across 60+ use cases, managing the campus hire team (~12 members) and vendor resources. This role drives portfolio roadmap governance, cross-BU coordination, risk and change management, financial tracking, and regional integration—with special focus on Japan integration, stakeholder management, and converting ideas into approved business cases.

The role provides critical operational support to free the existing VP to focus on training, regional AI Catalyst engagement,



strategy development, and flagship BU projects.

Role & Responsibilities:

Portfolio Roadmap & Governance:

- Own and maintain the 3-year AI transformation roadmap spanning 60+ use cases across SSG, CSG, MO, and IWM • Maintain a single trusted view of priorities, progress, risks, and costs across all AI initiatives • Participate in governance forums with Technology, Risk, Legal, Compliance, Finance, and business unit leaders • Rapid-track NTI (New Technology Introduction) approvals through proactive stakeholder engagement and documentation • Maintain audit-ready decision records, business case documentation, and approval trails • Achieve <5% schedule variance through proactive risk management and dependency tracking • Convert ideas into structured business cases with clear ROI, feasibility assessments, and implementation plans

Cross-BU Coordination & Stakeholder Management:

- Serve as primary point of contact for all AI program inquiries across four business units • Resolve resource conflicts and dependencies across SSG, CSG, MO, IWM workstreams • Align build sequencing to headcount-weighted priority and business value • Sustain pod utilization and optimize resource allocation across FDE teams and contractors • Facilitate regular coordination meetings with business unit sponsors, IT partners, and technical leads • Manage expectations and communicate trade-offs across competing priorities • Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders in Operations, Technology, Risk, and Compliance

Japan Integration & Regional Coordination:

- Lead Japan integration efforts, serving as primary liaison with Japanese stakeholders • Ensure global technology adoption and consistent AI implementation standards across AEJ, EMEA, and Americas • Adapt communication and governance approaches for regional cultural and business contexts • Coordinate timezone-spanning meetings and asynchronous collaboration across regions • Translate regional requirements into global roadmap considerations • Drive knowledge sharing and best practice exchange across geographic teams

Risk, Change & Reporting:

- Maintain comprehensive RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies) log across all AI initiatives • Drive adoption campaigns tailored to each business unit's culture and operational context • Proactively mitigate top risks including build slippage, SME availability, adoption resistance,



and technical dependencies • Implement change management strategies to ensure successful AI solution adoption • Produce board-ready briefings, executive dashboards, and stakeholder communications • Create compelling narratives that translate technical progress into business impact • Provide transparent reporting on program health, milestone achievement, and benefit realization

- Track investment and costs against BU charge-out models and budget allocations • Quantify progress toward 30% efficiency gain target with clear metrics and validation • Ensure benefits are captured in Operations Value Scorecard (OVS) with proper attribution • Coordinate with Finance on budget forecasting, cost allocation, and variance analysis • Build and maintain financial models for ROI tracking and benefit realization • Report on cost efficiency, value delivered, and return on investment to senior leadership

Team Management:

- Manage ~12 campus hires, providing mentorship, career development, and performance feedback • Coordinate vendor resources and contractors supporting AI build-out activities • Build team capabilities in program management, stakeholder engagement, and AI literacy • Foster a collaborative, high-performing team culture aligned with Nomura values • Conduct regular 1-on-1s, performance reviews, and development planning • Manage workload distribution and ensure team wellbeing and engagement

Mind Set:

Mandatory

Domain & Technical:

- 10-15 years of program/portfolio management experience, including large-scale transformation programs
- 5+ years managing cross-functional initiatives with 20+ stakeholders
- Strong track record of delivering complex programs on time and within budget
- Expertise in program governance, risk management, and stakeholder engagement
- Experience managing teams (10+ members) including campus hires and vendors
- Proficiency in program management tools (JIRA, MS Project, Smartsheet)
- Strong business acumen and ability to translate technical concepts for executive audiences
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
- Experience with financial tracking, budgeting, and benefit realization
- Understanding of change management principles and adoption strategies

Desired:

- Experience in financial services operations or capital markets
- Knowledge of AI/ML concepts, use cases, and implementation approaches
