The Role

We are looking for a Technical Project and Operations Manager to lead the development, fabrication, assembly, testing, and delivery of our 3D bioprinting systems. You will work closely with our engineering and manufacturing teams to take projects from design through to a working, tested machine, while keeping technical dependencies, procurement, fabrication, and timelines on track. The role requires robust hands-on knowledge of electromechanical and mechatronics systems, with the ability to understand the machine, identify technical and manufacturing bottlenecks early, and work with the team to resolve them.

What You Will Own

- Plan and manage projects from engineering design through procurement, fabrication, assembly, integration, testing, and delivery.
- Work directly with engineers and technicians during printer builds, troubleshooting, calibration, and testing.
- Review designs, BOMs, drawings, and manufacturing plans to identify technical, fabrication, procurement, and integration risks.
- Coordinate fabrication of mechanical parts and assemblies with internal teams and external vendors.
- Track critical components, supplier lead times, fabrication schedules, and other dependencies that can affect the build.
- Identify likely bottlenecks in printer development and manufacturing and work with the relevant teams to resolve them before they affect the project schedule.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, motion, fluidic, and integration issues during assembly and testing.
- Coordinate engineering changes and ensure that changes are reflected across CAD, BOMs, procurement, fabrication, and assembly.




- Set up and maintain systems for BOM management, part numbering, revision control, procurement, inventory, and project tracking.
- Coordinate final testing, validation, installation, and delivery of completed systems.
- Work with vendors and manufacturing partners to resolve technical and quality issues.
- Improve the processes used to build, test, and deliver our printers as the company scales.

What We Need From You

Education

- Bachelor's or Master's or PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- MBA/PGDM in Operations or Project Management is a plus, not a requirement.

Experience

- 4 to 8 years of experience in hardware product development, mechanical/electromechanical engineering, manufacturing, engineering operations, or technical project management.
- Experience developing, building, or manufacturing 3D printers, robotics systems, automation equipment, laboratory instruments, or other complex electromechanical hardware.
- Experience taking hardware from design and prototyping through fabrication, assembly, integration, testing, and delivery.
- Hands-on experience working with and troubleshooting mechanical and electromechanical systems, including motion systems, motors, actuators, sensors, mechanisms, or dispensing/fluidic systems.
- Experience coordinating fabrication, manufacturing vendors, component suppliers, and procurement for hardware projects.
- Experience identifying and managing technical, manufacturing, procurement, and integration risks in hardware development.
- Experience setting up or running a PLM, PDM, or BOM management system is preferred.




- Experience managing engineering projects using tools such as Jira, Asana, Monday, or equivalent.
- Experience with ERP, inventory, or procurement systems in a hardware environment is preferred.
- Experience with 3D printing, robotics, precision engineering, motion control, fluidics, or laboratory automation is a strong advantage.
