Recrutifi is hiring on behalf of its client, a multi-geography accounting and audit practice with operations across India, Australia, and the UK. The firm is now launching its US Accounting Division, working closely with a US-based CPA to deliver bookkeeping, accounting, and compliance services.

This is a founding leadership role with the opportunity to build and scale a team from scratch.

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Operations Head to establish and lead the US Accounting Division. This role involves end-to-end ownership of operations, team building, client delivery, and process setup, while acting as the key bridge between the India team and the US CPA partner.

You will build and scale a team of 15 members within 6 months, including Team Leaders and Associates.

Key Responsibilities1. Team Building & Leadership

- Lead hiring and onboarding of Team Leaders and accounting staff
- Design team structure, roles, and reporting hierarchy
- Manage and mentor Team Leaders and their respective teams
- Build performance frameworks, KPIs, and career growth plans
- Scale the team efficiently while maintaining quality standards

2. Operations & Service Delivery

- Oversee end-to-end US bookkeeping and accounting operations
- Set up SOPs for bookkeeping, reconciliations, AP/AR, payroll coordination, and financial reporting
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP and accounting standards
- Establish quality checks, review systems, and turnaround timelines
- Drive efficiency using tools like QuickBooks, Xero, Bill.com, etc.

3. US Partner Collaboration

- Act as the main point of contact for the US CPA partner
- Align India operations with US compliance and reporting standards
- Ensure smooth communication, workflow, and issue resolution
- Support client and partner discussions when required

Industry Expertise (F&B; & Retail)

- Manage accounting for F&B; and Retail clients
- Handle inventory accounting, POS integrations, and multi-location reporting
- Guide the team on industry-specific accounting practices

5. Client Management

- Maintain professional communication with US clients
- Handle escalations and ensure high client satisfaction
- Present MIS reports, dashboards, and performance updates

6. Compliance & Reporting

- Ensure adherence to US accounting standards and data security protocols
- Build internal controls and audit mechanisms
- Track and report productivity, quality, and TAT metrics

Required Qualifications (Must-Have)

- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) preferred
- Minimum 5 years of bookkeeping/accounting experience
- Strong communication skills (written & verbal)
- Willingness to work from office in Ahmedabad

Preferred Skills

- Experience working with US clients / CPA firms / KPO/BPO setups
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP
- Hands-on experience with QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite, Bill.com, Dext/Hubdoc
- Experience managing multi-layered teams (15 members)
- Strong process-building and SOP development skills
- Comfortable with US time-zone overlap
