Key Responsibilities

- Prepare the operation theatre before scheduled surgeries.

- Arrange and check surgical instruments, equipment, consumables, and sterile supplies.

- Assist the surgical team during procedures by providing required instruments and supplies.

- Maintain aseptic and sterile techniques throughout the procedure.

- Perform or assist with proper cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization of instruments.

- Check the functioning and availability of OT equipment.

- Assist in patient positioning, shifting, and preparation as directed by the clinical team.

- Maintain accurate counts of instruments, needles, and surgical swabs before and after procedures.

- Assist during emergency and major surgical procedures.

- Follow infection-control and biomedical-waste management protocols.

- Clean and prepare the OT between procedures.

- Maintain OT registers, checklists, and other required documentation.

- Report damaged equipment, shortages, or safety issues to the appropriate supervisor.

- Coordinate with surgeons, anesthetists, nurses, CSSD, and other hospital departments.

- Maintain patient confidentiality and qualified conduct.

- Follow hospital policies, safety procedures, and applicable clinical guidelines.
