Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

1. Cluster Deployment & Architecture

- Design, plan, and deploy enterprise-grade Kubernetes and Red Hat OpenShift clusters across bare-metal,

VMware, and cloud platforms.
- Configure, tune, and optimize cluster components for high availability, enterprise security, and performance.
- Automate cluster provisioning and infrastructure configuration using Ansible, Terraform, and Helm.

1. Infrastructure Automation & GitOps

- Develop complex Ansible playbooks and Terraform scripts to automate day-to-day IT and cluster operations.
- Implement declarative application deployment and environment synchronization using GitOps tools such as ArgoCD.
- Author and maintain Helm charts and Kustomize configurations for packaging and standardizing platform services.

1. Cluster Lifecycle Management

- Monitor and maintain OpenShift clusters, including upgrades, updates, security patching, and node configuration.
- Manage persistent storage solutions including Ceph, CSI, NFS, and volume configurations for multi-tenant environments.
- Participate in on-call support, incident response, and root-cause analysis to minimize production disruption.

1. Advanced Observability & Telemetry

- Diagnose and resolve complex cluster networking issues, control-plane errors, worker-node bottlenecks, and application issues.
- Design and maintain monitoring, logging,



and metrics solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, and Loki.
- Develop data-driven alerting mechanisms and dashboards to proactively manage cluster health and capacity.

1. Security, Compliance & Service Mesh

- Implement RBAC, CNI network policies, and cluster security configurations for multi-tenant cloud-native environments.
- Ensure compliance with organizational security frameworks and regulatory standards.
- Configure and manage Istio service mesh technologies for secure service-to-service communication, ingress, and egress.

Preferred candidate profile

- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related engineering field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
- Experience: 3 - 6 years of hands-on experience deploying and managing Kubernetes or Red Hat OpenShift clusters in production.
- Lifecycle Management: Proven experience managing complete Kubernetes/OpenShift lifecycle activities, including upgrades, security patching, and node scaling.

Key Skills & Competencies
- OpenShift/Kubernetes: Solid knowledge of Kubernetes/OpenShift architecture, networking (CNI/Calico/Cilium), and CSI storage.
- Automation: Strong proficiency in Python, Bash, Ansible, Terraform, and Helm.
- Observability & CI/CD: Hands-on experience with Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, and CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins and GitLab CI.
- Certifications: Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration (EX280), CKA, or CKAD is highly preferred.
