Role & responsibilities

- Manage day-to-day procurement of APIs, Excipients, general Raw materials, Primary and Secondary Packaging Materials, QC Lab Chemicals.
- Handle procurement activities from PR to PO, RFQs, order confirmation, delivery and closure.
- Obtain quotations, prepare comparative statements and negotiate with suppliers for competitive prices and commercial terms.
- Identify and develop new and alternate suppliers to ensure supply continuity and reduce single-source dependency.
- Coordinate with PPIC, Production, Stores, QA, QC, R&D;, Regulatory, Finance, Logistics and other stakeholders for timely material availability.
- Monitor open purchase orders and follow up with suppliers for timely delivery as per production requirements.
- Track market prices and support cost reduction and cost-saving initiatives.
- Conduct techno-commercial discussions with primary and secondary suppliers/manufacturers.
- Coordinate supplier qualification and documentation such as VQ, QTA, COA, DMF, LOA, CAPA and other quality/regulatory documents.
- Coordinate with QA/QC for supplier audits, samples and approval of new suppliers/materials.




- Support procurement requirements for current product development and R&D; activities.
- Coordinate with Packaging Development for packaging material requirements, including shade cards and new developments which will be a key role.
- Coordinate with overseas suppliers and Logistics for import orders, shipment documentation and timely customs clearance.
- Monitor material lead times, supply risks and potential shortages and take timely corrective actions.
- Maintain open PO data, price evaluation reports, cost sheets, savings reports and monthly/quarterly procurement MIS.
- Process and monitor purchase requisitions and purchase orders in SAP.
- Coordinate with Legal for Confidentiality Agreements (CDA), Supply Agreements (SA) and other supplier agreements.
- Participate in plant production meetings and R&D;/PRC meetings as required.
- Ensure procurement activities are carried out in line with company procedures, quality requirements and applicable regulatory guidelines.
