Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and patient-focused NCV / EEG Technician to perform neurodiagnostic procedures including EEG, NCV/NCS and assist in EMG investigations under the guidance of Neurologists/Consultants. The candidate will be responsible for accurate test execution, patient preparation, equipment handling, documentation and maintaining quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform EEG (Electroencephalography) and NCV/NCS (Nerve Conduction Velocity/Studies) as prescribed by the Consultant/Neurologist.
- Assist the Neurologist during EMG and other neurophysiology investigations as required.
- Prepare patients for procedures and explain the test process to ensure their comfort and cooperation.
- Perform accurate electrode/sensor placement and ensure good-quality recordings.
- Operate EEG, NCV/EMG and other neurodiagnostic equipment safely and effectively.
- Ensure proper calibration, electrode impedance and signal quality before and during procedures.
- Identify and minimize technical artifacts during recordings.
- Monitor patients during procedures and immediately report any unusual observations or patient discomfort to the concerned doctor.
- Maintain accurate patient records, test data, worksheets and investigation reports.
- Ensure proper identification, labeling and secure handling of patient records and investigation data.
- Perform routine checks,



cleaning and basic maintenance of neurodiagnostic equipment and accessories.
- Troubleshoot minor technical issues and promptly escalate equipment breakdowns to the concerned team/vendor.
- Follow infection control, biomedical safety, patient safety and hospital quality protocols.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and medical records.
- Coordinate with Neurologists, Nursing, OPD/IPD, ICU and other clinical departments for smooth patient flow.
- Maintain cleanliness and readiness of the Neurodiagnostic/EEG room.
- Assist in special investigations such as sleep EEG, video EEG, bedside EEG, F-wave and H-reflex studies, wherever applicable and within the technician's scope.
- Follow hospital policies and NABH/quality standards applicable to the department.
- Perform any other duties related to Neurophysiology/Neurology services as assigned by the reporting manager.

Educational Qualification
- Diploma / B.Sc. in Neuro Technology / Neurophysiology Technology / Clinical Neurophysiology / EEG Technology / Allied Health Sciences or equivalent qualification.
- Certification/Diploma in NCV/EMG/EEG/Neurodiagnostic Technology will be preferred.
- Candidates with relevant hospital-based training and hands-on experience may also be considered.





Specific institutional requirements can vary; for example, government recruitment rules for EEG/EMG/NCV technician roles may specify particular technical qualifications and Neuro Science Laboratory experience.

Desired Skills

- Hands-on knowledge of EEG, NCV/NCS and basic EMG procedures.
- Knowledge of the 10–20 EEG electrode placement system.
- Understanding of basic neurophysiology, nerve conduction parameters, F-wave and H-reflex.
- Ability to operate computerized neurodiagnostic equipment.
- Good patient-handling and communication skills.

Preferred Candidate Profile
- Hospital/diagnostic centre experience in Neurology / Neurophysiology / Neurodiagnostics.
- Candidates with hands-on experience in both EEG and NCV will be preferred.
- Good interpersonal and patient-care skills.
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts, including emergency/bedside investigations, if required.
- Professional, responsible and quality-conscious approach.
