Position: Mine Planning Manager (Assistant Head)

Position Overview The Mine Planning Head will be responsible for leading all mine planning activities for Open Cast Mining Operations, including short-term, medium-term, and long-term mine planning, pit optimization, production scheduling, mine development, waste management, and statutory compliance. The role will ensure secure, sustainable, and cost-effective mining operations while achieving production targets and maximizing resource recovery.

Key Responsibilities

Mine Planning & Design

- Prepare and review short-, medium-, and long-term mine plans aligned with business objectives.
- Develop pit layouts, pushback designs, bench configurations, haul road designs, dump plans, and mine sequencing.
- Optimize pit design and mine schedules to maximize ore recovery and minimize mining costs.
- Prepare annual excavation programs and mine development plans.
- Ensure proper mine development in accordance with the approved Mining Plan and statutory requirements.

Coordination with Survey, Geology & Operations

- Coordinate with Mine Survey teams for updating pit progress, bench advancement, and excavation status.
- Work closely with Geology teams for ore body interpretation, grade control, reserve estimation, and reconciliation.
- Support Operations teams in execution of approved mine plans.
- Ensure alignment between geological models, survey updates,



and production schedules.
- Conduct regular planning review meetings with all stakeholders.

Mine Development & Execution

- Monitor pit advancement, bench formation, haul road development, and dump management.
- Ensure execution of mining activities as per approved mine plans and schedules.
- Develop strategies to improve mine productivity and operational efficiency.
- Support contract mining management and performance monitoring, where applicable.

Waste Dump & Infrastructure Planning

- Design and monitor waste dump development and stabilization.
- Plan haul roads, drainage systems, safety berms, and mine infrastructure.
- Ensure scientific dump management and slope stability compliance.
- Coordinate mine closure and progressive reclamation activities

MIS, Reporting & Data Management

- Prepare and present production, development, and planning MIS reports.
- Generate monthly performance reviews and forecasting reports.
- Maintain mine planning databases and records.
- Provide management with operational insights and improvement recommendations.

Safety, Environment & Sustainability

- Promote safe mining practices and compliance with HSE standards.
- Ensure mine planning incorporates environmental and sustainability requirements.
- Support implementation of progressive mine reclamation and rehabilitation plans.
- Participate in risk assessments and safety improvement initiatives.
