Position Objective
Responsible for developing and implementing manufacturing methods and process plans for aerospace precision-machined components, ensuring manufacturability, quality, productivity and timely industrialisation of new products.
Key Responsibilities
- Review customer drawings, 3D models, specifications and GD&T; for manufacturing feasibility.
- Develop process plans, operation sequences, manufacturing routes and work instructions.
- Define machining strategies for CNC Turning, Milling and 4/5-axis machining.
- Support CNC programming/CAM activities and review tool paths and machining parameters.
- Develop and optimise fixtures, jigs, soft jaws and cutting-tool strategies.
- Support NPI, prototype development, process trials and FAI/AS9102.
- Prepare and maintain Process Flow, PFMEA, Control Plan and manufacturing documentation.
- Conduct process feasibility and identify manufacturing risks before production release.
- Optimise cycle time, tool life, setup time and machining cost.
- Support resolution of process-related NCRs, deviations and quality issues.
- Coordinate with Design, Quality, Production, Tooling and Planning for successful product industrialisation.
- Support continuous improvement and standardisation of manufacturing methods.
Required Experience
- 510 years in Methods / Manufacturing Engineering.
- Experience in Aerospace / Defence precision machining preferred.
- Robust knowledge of CNC Turning, Milling and 4/5-axis machining.
- Knowledge of CAM software, GD&T;, tooling and fixture concepts.
Experience in NPI, FAI/AS9102 and process documentation
