Job Summary

Karauli Diagnostics is looking for a Medical Transcriptionist / Medical Typist responsible for accurately transcribing and typing medical reports, particularly diagnostic and radiology reports, from dictated or recorded content provided by doctors and reporting specialists.

The role requires high accuracy, medical terminology knowledge, confidentiality, positive typing speed, and strong attention to detail, as the quality of transcription directly impacts the timely delivery of diagnostic reports to patients and referring doctors.

Key Responsibilities

- Transcribe and type radiology, pathology, and other diagnostic reports accurately from dictated/recorded content or handwritten/digital notes.
- Type reports for modalities such as MRI, CT, X-Ray, Ultrasound, Mammography, and other applicable diagnostic services.
- Ensure correct spelling, medical terminology, measurements, observations, findings, and report formats.
- Maintain the standard format and templates prescribed by the organization.
- Proofread reports carefully before submission to the reporting doctor/authorized person.
- Identify obvious typing, formatting, or transcription errors and clarify discrepancies with the concerned reporting doctor/team where required.
- Ensure reports are completed within the defined turnaround time (TAT).
- Maintain strict confidentiality and privacy of patient information and medical records.
- Handle patient data, reports, and digital records responsibly and securely.
- Coordinate with radiologists, pathologists, technicians, front-office teams, and reporting departments for smooth report completion.
- Maintain proper records of pending, completed, and corrected reports.




- Assist in digital report management, uploading, printing, scanning, and dispatching reports where required.
- Ensure proper use of computers, reporting software, hospital/diagnostic information systems, and other relevant applications.

Required Qualifications & Skills

- Graduate with relevant experience in medical transcription or medical typing.
- 1–3 years of experience as a Medical Transcriptionist, Medical Typist, Report Typist, or similar role in a diagnostic centre, hospital, pathology lab, or healthcare organization preferred.
- Good knowledge of medical terminology, particularly radiology and diagnostic terminology.
- Excellent English spelling, grammar, and comprehension.
- Good typing speed with high accuracy.
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially MS Word and basic Excel.
- Familiarity with diagnostic/reporting software or LIS/RIS/PACS will be an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with repetitive, time-sensitive documentation.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of patient information.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet report TAT requirements.
