Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Mechanical Engineer role based in Chennai.

The Mechanical

Engineer will be responsible for designing and optimizing mechanical components and assemblies for braking and related systems, using CAD tools and engineering calculations. Day-to-day tasks include preparing detailed drawings, participating in design reviews, coordinating with production and quality teams, and supporting testing and validation activities. The role involves contributing to research and development initiatives, resolving technical issues on the shop floor, and ensuring designs meet performance, safety, and cost targets.

Engineer will also assist in project planning, documentation, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to meet delivery deadlines.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering with the ability to apply engineering principles to product and process design.
- Proficiency in Machine Design and Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for creating and updating mechanical drawings and models.
- Experience or aptitude in Project Management, including planning tasks, tracking progress, and coordinating with stakeholders.
- Exposure to or interest in Research and Development (R&D;), including testing, data analysis, and continuous improvement activities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Valuable understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and quality standards in mechanical or automotive industries.
- Ability to work on-site in Chennai, collaborate effectively in diverse teams, and communicate clearly in written and spoken English.
- Familiarity with industry standards and safety practices; prior experience in braking systems or automotive components is an advantage.
