Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Mechanical Design Engineer role based in Mumbai.

The Mechanical Design

Engineer will design and develop mechanical systems and components for Fiber Laser and Plasma-OxyFuel CNC cutting machines and welding automation equipment.

Responsibilities include creating detailed CAD models and drawings, performing engineering calculations, selecting mechanical components, and ensuring designs meet performance, safety, and manufacturability requirements. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams such as production, quality, and service to support prototyping, testing, design optimization, and continuous product improvement.



The engineer will also contribute to documentation, BOM preparation, and technical support for manufacturing and installation teams.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering and Design Engineering, with the ability to apply engineering principles to complex machinery.
- Experience in Machine Design and Product Design, including mechanisms, structural components, and assemblies for industrial equipment.
- Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor or similar) for 3D modeling and detailed drafting.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials selection, tolerances, and design for manufacturability and assembly (DFMA).
- Ability to read and create engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation with high accuracy.
- Problem-solving skills and experience with prototyping, testing, and design validation in a workshop or factory environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline; relevant industry experience in CNC machinery or welding automation is an advantage.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in office in Mumbai.
