Key responsibilities

- Develop detailed production CAD for the airframe from validated design geometry

- Build structural analysis models and work with an external consultant to validate key load cases through to sign-off

- Design composite mould tooling and own the layup/cure plan, in-house or via a subcontracted vendor

- Design launch/deployment mechanical interfaces as required by the program

- Own payload and subsystem integration design, including mounting and routing considerations

- Support structural testing and translate results into design updates

Required qualifications

- B.Tech in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering

- 5+ years of composite structure design experience, including working knowledge of FEA tools

- Strong working proficiency in SolidWorks (required) and a structural FEA package (e.g. SolidWorks Simulation, ANSYS, or equivalent)

- Practical understanding of composite manufacturing processes

Valuable to have

- Prior UAV or small-airframe composite structure experience

- Experience with dynamic/impulsive load cases

- Familiarity with common aerodynamic analysis tool outputs
