About the Role

SRES is looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with hands-on experience in LV/HT electrical switchgear and control panel design. The candidate will be responsible for mechanical design, fabrication drawings, BOM preparation, CNC drawings, and coordination with production and electrical design teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Design LV/HT switchgear, control panels, electrical enclosures, and panel structures.
- Prepare GA, IGA, fabrication, assembly, and detailed mechanical drawings.
- Prepare sheet-metal fabrication and CNC drawings.
- Design panel doors, mounting plates, partitions, brackets, gland plates, busbar supports, etc.
- Prepare BOM, material specifications, fabrication weights, and fastener details.
- Design and modify panels according to customer specifications and project requirements.
- Coordinate with Electrical Design, Production, Fabrication, Testing, and Quality teams.
- Support CNC laser/punching, bending, welding, and panel assembly activities.
- Perform design checks for dimensions, clearances, mounting arrangements, and manufacturability.
- Handle design modifications and resolve manufacturing-related design issues.
- Participate in panel inspection and quality checks when required.
- Maintain proper drawing revisions, design records, and technical documentation.

Required Technical Skills
- Robust knowledge of LV/HT switchgear and control panel mechanical design.
- Excellent knowledge of AutoCAD.




- Knowledge of SolidWorks / 3D CAD will be an advantage.
- Experience in sheet-metal design, fabrication, welding, CNC cutting/punching, and bending.
- Knowledge of GD&T; and engineering drawing standards.
- Experience preparing GA, IGA, fabrication drawings and BOMs.
- Knowledge of electrical components such as VCB, ACB, MCCB, MCB, VFD, MPCB, relays, CT/PT, capacitor banks, etc. will be an advantage.
- Knowledge of CNC programming / SigmaNEST is an added advantage.

Candidate Profile
- 2–6 years of relevant experience in mechanical design of electrical panels/switchgear.
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
- Candidates from LV/HT panel, switchgear, electrical enclosure, sheet-metal, or panel manufacturing companies are preferred.
- Should be able to independently handle design activities from project requirement → drawing → fabrication → production support.
- Good problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills.
- Candidates with strong practical manufacturing exposure are preferred.
