Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer (SolidWorks Specialist)

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled B.Tech Mechanical Engineer with strong core fundamentals and expertise in SolidWorks. In this role, you will be responsible for transforming conceptual ideas into production-ready 3D models, detailed assemblies, and engineering drawings. You will work closely with manufacturing, fabrication, and quality assurance teams to ensure designs are optimized for functionality, cost, and manufacturability.

Key Responsibilities

- 3D Modeling & Design: Create, modify, and optimize complex 3D CAD models of mechanical components and systems using SolidWorks.
- Assembly & Interference Checks: Develop detailed top-down or bottom-up assemblies. Conduct interference, gap, and clearance analyses to eliminate design flaws before production.
- 2D Drafting & Documentation: Generate accurate 2D manufacturing drawings. Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T;) principles, machining symbols, and welding notes.
- Design for Manufacturing (DFM): Optimize designs specifically for sheet metal fabrication, plastic molding, CNC machining, or weldments.
- Bill of Materials (BOM): Create, update, and manage accurate BOM structures within Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)



or ERP systems for procurement and assembly.
- Engineering Simulation: Perform basic structural, thermal, or motion studies using SolidWorks Simulation (FEA) to validate design safety and performance.
- Engineering Changes: Process Engineering Change Notices (ECN) and manage design revision controls throughout the product lifecycle.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Education: B.Tech / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of SolidWorks (Part Modeling, Assembly, Drawing, Sheet Metal, and Weldment modules). Basic 2D drafting capabilities in AutoCAD are a major plus.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of mechanical engineering principles, materials science, manufacturing constraints, and international design standards (ASME, ISO, ANSI).
- Data Management: Familiarity with SolidWorks Enterprise Product Data Management (ePDM) or alternative PLM software.
- Soft Skills: Excellent spatial visualization, structured problem-solving, and the communication skills required to collaborate with cross-functional shop floor teams.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹18,000.00 per month
