Role Description The MBD OBD Engineer is a full-time role based in Bengaluru with a hybrid work arrangement, allowing a combination of on-site and work-from-home. This role focuses on model-based design (MBD) and On-Board Diagnostics (OBD) for automotive safety and control systems, including developing and maintaining simulation models, diagnostic algorithms, and software components. Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams to define requirements, implementing and validating OBD features in accordance with Functional Safety standards, and performing integration, testing, and documentation of software modules.

The engineer will analyze system behavior, troubleshoot issues identified in testing or field data, and support continuous improvement of development processes and tooling.



The role also involves close coordination with FuSa specialists to ensure compliance with ISO standards and customer specifications.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong foundational knowledge in Computer Science, including algorithms, data structures, and software engineering principles.
- Candidates should possess skills in Software Development and Programming, with experience in implementing, testing, and maintaining production-quality code.
- Candidates should possess experience in Back-End Web Development where relevant to tooling or interfaces, including APIs or diagnostic data platforms.
- Candidates should possess proficiency in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and be able to design modular, reusable, and maintainable software components.
- Experience with model-based design tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink) and embedded software development for automotive systems is highly beneficial.
- Knowledge of On-Board Diagnostics (OBD), Functional Safety (FuSa), and ISO standards (such as ISO 26262) is a robust advantage.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Ability to work effectively in hybrid teams, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and clear technical communication in English.
