Marketing Manager – Domestic API Sales

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Marketing Manager with a strong background in Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) sales and business development within the Indian market. This role is ideal for professionals who have built strong relationships with pharmaceutical manufacturers, formulators, traders, and procurement teams and have a proven track record of driving revenue growth.

The successful candidate will play a key role in expanding market presence, developing strategic customer relationships, and driving sales of pharmaceutical APIs across India.

Key Responsibilities

- Drive business development and revenue growth for the API portfolio across domestic markets.
- Identify, prospect, and acquire new customers while strengthening relationships with existing accounts.
- Develop and execute territory expansion strategies to increase market penetration and customer coverage.
- Conduct customer meetings, technical discussions, and commercial negotiations with procurement and business stakeholders.
- Build a strong sales pipeline and consistently achieve business targets.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, pricing movements, and emerging opportunities within the API industry.
- Collaborate with sourcing, regulatory, quality, logistics, and commercial teams to ensure smooth execution of customer requirements.
- Manage customer inquiries, quotations, contracts,



and commercial discussions from lead generation through order closure.
- Maintain strong knowledge of pharmaceutical industry regulations, documentation requirements, and compliance standards.
- Prepare periodic sales forecasts, market intelligence reports, and business development plans.

Desired Candidate Profile

- 7–12 years of experience in API sales, API marketing, pharmaceutical raw materials, or bulk drug business development.
- Experience working with API manufacturers, pharmaceutical trading companies, bulk drug suppliers, or related organizations.
- Established network of pharmaceutical customers, formulators, procurement managers, and decision-makers across India.
- Strong understanding of domestic API markets, customer buying behavior, and commercial processes.
- Excellent negotiation, relationship management, and account development skills.
- Ability to independently manage customer acquisition and revenue generation activities.
- Robust communication, presentation, and stakeholder management capabilities.
