Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Marine Electrical Engineer with hands-on experience in shipbuilding, ship repair, vessel electrical installation, testing and commissioning. The candidate will be responsible for electrical systems onboard vessels, including power generation, distribution, motor control, lighting, cables, switchboards and electrical equipment.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan, supervise and execute marine electrical installation, maintenance, testing and commissioning activities.
- Handle electrical works related to Main Engine, Auxiliary Engines, generators and vessel electrical systems.
- Installation and maintenance of:
- Main & Emergency Switchboards
- Distribution Boards
- Motor Control Centres (MCC)
- Transformers
- Generators
- Motors
- Starters and VFDs
- Batteries and battery chargers
- Shore supply systems
- Lighting systems
- Navigation and signal lighting
- Emergency electrical systems
- Carry out cable laying, routing, glanding, termination and dressing.
- Supervise cable tray, conduit and support installation.
- Perform cable continuity, insulation resistance and other electrical tests.
- Troubleshoot electrical faults in motors, generators, switchboards and control circuits.
- Carry out testing and commissioning of AC and DC electrical systems.
- Conduct functional testing of electrical equipment and protection systems.
- Troubleshoot motor control circuits, contactors, relays, breakers and VFDs.
- Read and interpret single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, cable schedules and electrical drawings.
- Coordinate with Mechanical, Instrumentation, Electronics, Automation and Production teams.
- Coordinate with Class Surveyors,



OEM representatives and Client Inspectors during inspections and commissioning.
- Prepare electrical work completion reports, testing records and inspection documentation.
- Support Harbour Acceptance Tests (HAT), Sea Trials and vessel commissioning.
- Ensure electrical installations comply with approved drawings, specifications, Class requirements and applicable marine standards.
- Monitor electrical subcontractors and ensure work is completed as per quality and safety requirements.
- Maintain proper records of electrical defects, rectification and commissioning activities.

Qualification
- B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Marine Electrical / Marine Engineering certification will be an advantage.

Experience 3–8 years of relevant experience, preferably in:

- Shipbuilding
- Ship repair
- Marine electrical installation
- Vessel commissioning
- Offshore / marine projects
- Heavy engineering

Candidates with hands-on onboard vessel experience will be preferred.

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
