Designation: Financial Services Risk Advisory – Senior Consultant / Assistant Manager (Internal Audit)

Qualification: CA / ACCA / CPA / CIA / CISA / MBA Finance (Professional certifications such as CIA, CRMA, CISA, CAMS or FRM will be an added advantage)
Experience: 5 – 10 years of experience in a Big 4 or equivalent global audit and advisory firm, with a focus on Internal Audit within the financial services sector

Senior Consultant / Assistant Manager– Financial Services Internal Audit & Risk Advisory
As a Senior Consultant / Assistant Manager – Financial Services Internal Audit & Risk Advisory, you will be responsible for delivering internal audit and risk advisory engagements for banks, insurance companies, investment firms, asset managers, fintech companies, and other regulated financial institutions in Bahrain and across the GCC. The role requires strong technical knowledge of internal audit methodologies, regulatory requirements, governance, risk management, and internal controls, together with the ability to manage engagements and supervise junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
Internal Audit & Risk Advisory
- Plan and execute internal audit engagements for financial institutions in accordance with the Global Internal Audit Standards (GIAS), and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct risk assessments, process walkthroughs,
control evaluations, testing, and documentation across key business and support functions.
- Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of governance, risk management, and internal control frameworks.
- Review business processes and identify control deficiencies, operational risks, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Prepare high-quality working papers, audit reports, observations, risk assessments, and practical recommendations.
- Perform follow-up reviews to assess the implementation status of agreed management action plans.
- Assist clients in strengthening internal control environments and enhancing operational effectiveness.
Financial Services Regulatory Advisory
- Perform reviews against applicable regulatory requirements issued by the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) and other relevant regulatory authorities.
- Assess compliance with corporate governance, risk management, AML/CFT, operational risk, compliance, finance, treasury, investment management, information technology, and other regulatory frameworks.
- Support governance, risk management, and internal control reviews across financial institutions.
- Assist clients in identifying regulatory gaps and developing remediation plans aligned with regulatory expectations and industry best practices.
Engagement Management
- Lead day-to-day execution of internal audit engagements while ensuring quality, timeliness, and adherence to methodology.
- Coordinate with client management to obtain information, conduct interviews,
and discuss audit observations.
- Monitor engagement progress, manage timelines, and escalate key issues where appropriate.
- Ensure audit documentation complies with firm quality standards and internal review requirements.
Practice Development
- Support proposal preparation, business development activities, and client presentations.
- Contribute to the development of audit methodologies, templates, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
- Stay updated with developments in banking regulations, internal auditing standards, governance practices, and emerging risks affecting the financial services sector.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
- 4–10 years of relevant experience in Internal Audit or Risk Advisory within a Big 4 or equivalent professional services firm.
- Strong experience in conducting internal audits for banks, insurance companies, investment firms, asset managers, fintech companies, or other regulated financial institutions.
- Good understanding of governance, risk management, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.
- Sound knowledge of CBB Rulebook requirements and/or other financial services regulatory frameworks will be an advantage.
- Practical experience in preparing risk-based internal audit plans, audit programmes, working papers, and audit reports.
- Familiarity with Global Internal Audit Standards (GIAS), COSO Internal Control Framework, and Enterprise Risk Management Framework.
- Professional certifications such as CIA, CRMA, CISA, CAMS, ACCA, CA, CPA, or FRM will be an added advantage.
- Solid analytical, report writing, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple engagements, supervise junior staff, and work effectively in a fast-paced consulting environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
