Job Role:

The Equipment Planning & Inventory Control will support the planning and monitoring of empty container repositioning to ensure timely availability across locations. The role involves tracking inventory, assisting in cost control initiatives, and coordinating with feeders and MLOs to support productive and cost-effective operations.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement strategies for empty container repositioning based on demand, inventory levels, operational requirements, and trade flows.
2. Oversee and manage global container inventory, ensuring optimal equipment availability across locations while minimizing idle inventory and stockouts.
3. Establish effective inventory control and monitoring mechanisms to improve equipment utilization, accuracy, and overall inventory efficiency.
4. Drive cost optimization initiatives related to container repositioning, transportation, storage, leasing, and other equipment-related expenses.
5. Lead commercial negotiations with feeders, MLOs, depots and other service providers to secure competitive rates and favourable service agreements.
6. Monitor market trends, equipment demand, and operational requirements to support data-driven equipment planning and decision-making.
7. Coordinate closely with Operations, Commercial, Pricing,



and overseas teams to align equipment availability with business requirements.
8. Build and maintain strong relationships with feeders, MLOs, depots and equipment service providers to ensure reliable and cost-effective solutions.
9. Review equipment utilization and positioning across locations and identify opportunities to reduce unnecessary repositioning, storage, and operational costs.
10. Lead and monitor equipment-related performance, inventory reports and KPIs, providing regular updates and recommendations to management.
11. Drive continuous improvement initiatives in equipment planning, inventory control, and container utilization.
12. Manage and guide the equipment planning/inventory team, ensuring effective execution of day-to-day activities and achievement of operational and cost objectives.
13. Experience in container repositioning, inventory management, feeder/MLO coordination, and commercial negotiations will be an added advantage.

Experience Required:

- 9–12 years of relevant experience in shipping, container management, logistics or supply chain operations, with experience in equipment planning/inventory control preferred.

Education Required:

- B. Com or equivalent
- MBA/Supply Chain qualification will be an added advantage.
