Manager – HR | Talent Acquisition & People Operations
Location: Mumbai (on-site) Experience: 4–7 years
Employment Type: Full-Time (6 days a week)
About the Role
dMACQ is looking for a hands-on and driven HR Manager to manage the complete HR function for our growing organization of approximately 150 employees. The role requires a well-rounded HR qualified with strong experience in recruitment, HR operations, statutory compliance, employee engagement, performance management, and HRMS administration.
Recruitment will be an important part of the role, particularly for technology and specialist positions; however, this is not a recruitment-only role. The HR Manager will be expected to independently manage the employee lifecycle and day-to-day HR function while working closely with business and functional leaders.
We would particularly value candidates who have worked in a technology, SaaS, start-up, or growth-stage organization, where they have had hands-on responsibility across multiple areas of HR.
Key Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition
- Manage end-to-end recruitment for technical and non-technical positions.
- Partner with hiring managers to understand manpower requirements, job specifications, and hiring priorities.
- Manage sourcing, screening, interview coordination, offer negotiations, documentation, and onboarding.
- Build and maintain appropriate recruitment channels and candidate pipelines.
- Track recruitment metrics including open positions, time-to-hire, offer acceptance, and joining status.
HR Operations & Employee Lifecycle
- Manage the complete employee lifecycle from onboarding through confirmation, transfers, increments, promotions, and separation.
- Ensure accurate maintenance of employee records, employment documentation, and HR data.
- Manage attendance, leave, employee documentation, and payroll inputs through the HRMS.
- Coordinate monthly payroll processing and resolve employee queries relating to salary, leave, attendance, and benefits.
- Ensure smooth onboarding and exit processes.
Statutory Compliance & HR Policies
- Ensure compliance with applicable employment and labour regulations including PF, ESIC, Professional Tax, Bonus, minimum wages, Shops & Establishments requirements, POSH, and other applicable statutory requirements.
- Maintain required HR and statutory records and coordinate with consultants or service providers wherever required.
- Develop, review, and implement HR policies, procedures, and employee documentation.
- Support compliance audits and management reviews relating to HR.
Performance Management
- Coordinate the company's performance management and appraisal processes.
- Work with functional leaders to establish appropriate KPIs, KRAs, and performance objectives.
- Track appraisal cycles, confirmations, performance improvement plans, and related documentation.
- Support management in building a performance-oriented culture.
Employee Engagement & Employee Relations
- Develop practical employee engagement, communication, and recognition initiatives.
- Act as a point of contact for employee concerns and HR-related queries.
- Support managers in handling employee relations, performance concerns, and workplace issues fairly and consistently.
- Help strengthen employee retention, communication, and organizational culture.
Learning & Development
- Work with functional heads to identify employee development and training requirements.
- Coordinate internal and external training initiatives and maintain relevant training records.
HR MIS & Management Reporting
- Maintain HR dashboards and MIS covering areas such as headcount, attrition, recruitment, attendance, employee movements, and other key HR metrics.
- Provide periodic HR reports and insights to management.
- Use HR data to identify trends and recommend process improvements.
HR Technology & Process Improvement
- Administer and continuously improve the use of HRMS and related HR technology platforms.
- Identify opportunities to automate and streamline recruitment and HR processes.
- Be comfortable adopting AI-enabled HR tools and digital HR workflows.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Resources, Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 4–7 years of relevant HR experience, preferably in a broad HR generalist or HR management role.
- Strong hands-on experience in recruitment, preferably including software development, technology, and other specialist roles.
- Good working knowledge of Indian employment regulations and statutory HR compliance.
- Practical experience with HRMS, payroll coordination, attendance, employee lifecycle management, and HR documentation.
- Experience in performance management, employee engagement, and HR policy implementation.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working independently and managing multiple HR responsibilities in a growing organization.
- Good working knowledge of Excel / spreadsheets and HR MIS reporting.
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience with a technology, SaaS, start-up, or growth-stage company.
- Experience working in an organization of approximately 100–300 employees.
- Exposure to recruitment for technology roles.
- Experience with HRMS platforms such as Keka or comparable systems.
- Familiarity with AI-enabled recruitment, HR automation, or talent-management tools.
