About Position:

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Architect to lead the architecture, design, modernization, and transformation of enterprise-scale mainframe applications and platforms. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in IMS, COBOL, CICS, DB2, and z/OS technologies, along with strong architectural leadership capabilities. This role will be responsible for defining technology roadmaps, driving modernization strategies, enhancing system performance and reliability, and ensuring alignment with business objectives.

The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, solution architects, infrastructure teams, and development teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing enterprise solutions.

What You'll Do:

- Define and drive the architecture, design, and modernization strategy for enterprise mainframe applications and platforms.
- Lead the design and implementation of scalable, resilient, and business-aligned mainframe solutions.
- Develop enterprise architecture roadmaps and long-term technology transformation plans.
- Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance for IMS, COBOL, CICS, DB2, MQ, and z/OS-based applications.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand business objectives and translate them into robust technical architectures.
- Evaluate existing legacy systems and recommend modernization, migration, and optimization strategies.
- Design integration solutions between mainframe and distributed/cloud platforms.
- Ensure architecture compliance with enterprise standards, security requirements, and governance frameworks.
- Conduct architecture reviews, solution assessments, and technical governance activities.
- Drive modernization initiatives including API enablement, cloud integration, and digital transformation programs.
- Define best practices for application design, development, deployment, performance, and operational support.




- Guide teams in troubleshooting complex technical issues and implementing long-term solutions.
- Review application designs, technical specifications, and implementation approaches.
- Work closely with infrastructure teams to ensure platform stability, scalability, and disaster recovery readiness.
- Support capacity planning, performance tuning, and system optimization initiatives.
- Mentor architects, developers, and technical teams on mainframe architecture best practices.
- Drive innovation and adoption of emerging technologies within the mainframe ecosystem.
- Collaborate with global and cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.

Expertise You'll Bring:

- B.E., B.Tech., MCA, or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 10-14 years of experience in Mainframe Architecture, Application Development, and Enterprise Solution Delivery.
- Extensive experience with IMS, COBOL, CICS, DB2, MQ, and z/OS technologies.
- Strong expertise in enterprise application architecture and large-scale solution design.
- Experience architecting mission-critical transaction processing systems.
- Deep understanding of mainframe modernization and legacy transformation initiatives.
- Expertise in integration architecture across mainframe, cloud, and distributed systems.
- Strong knowledge of system scalability, reliability, performance, resilience, and operational excellence.
- Experience designing secure and compliant enterprise solutions.
- Robust understanding of application performance tuning and optimization techniques.
- Experience with architecture governance, technical standards, and enterprise frameworks.




- Familiarity with cloud integration strategies involving AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Knowledge of API enablement, microservices integration, and hybrid architecture approaches.
- Experience leading technical teams and influencing architecture decisions across large organizations.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to engage with business leaders, architects, and engineering teams effectively.
- Proven experience driving modernization roadmaps and transformation programs.
- Strong analytical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience working within Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery environments.
