Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Systems Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of expertise in Perl, Shell scripting, Linux operating systems, and storage or Linux virtualization technologies. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of ESXi Hypervisor or similar virtualization platforms and will be responsible for maintaining, optimizing, and troubleshooting our systems infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

- Scripting and Automation:
- Develop and maintain scripts using Perl and Shell to automate system tasks and processes.

- Implement and manage automation solutions to improve operational efficiency.

- System Administration:

- Install, configure, and maintain Linux operating systems across various distributions.

- Perform regular system monitoring, verify the integrity and availability of hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes.

- Review system and application logs, and verify completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.

- Virtualization:

- Manage and optimize storage virtualization solutions or Linux virtualization environments.

- Configure, monitor, and maintain ESXi Hypervisor or other virtualization platforms.

- Ensure high availability and disaster recovery of virtual environments.

- Troubleshooting and Support:





- Identify and resolve hardware and software issues across various platforms.

- Provide level 2/3 support and troubleshooting for issues related to Linux systems and virtualization environments.

- Collaborate with other IT teams to diagnose and resolve complex problems.

- Documentation and Compliance:

- Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation for system configurations, procedures, and processes.

- Ensure systems comply with organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working with Perl and Shell scripting.

- Extensive experience with Linux operating systems administration and troubleshooting.

- Proven experience with storage virtualization or Linux virtualization technologies.

- Hands-on experience with ESXi Hypervisor or similar virtualization platforms.

- Skills:

- Strong scripting and programming skills in Perl and Shell.

- In-depth knowledge of Linux operating systems and system administration best practices.

- Solid understanding of storage and virtualization concepts.

- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

- Ability to work independently and in a team setting.

- Strong communication and documentation skills.
