Job Summary
Provide 24/7 L1 production monitoring and operational support in rotational shifts.
Responsibilities
- Monitor servers, applications, databases, cloud infrastructure, and Kubernetes workloads.
- Monitor and support physical and virtual Linux servers/VMs.
- Perform Linux administration and troubleshooting, including CPU, memory, disk utilization, processes, services, permissions, and system/application logs.
- Monitor and troubleshoot cron jobs and scheduled tasks, including checking execution status, failures, and related logs.
- Start, stop, and restart Linux services as per approved procedures.
- Monitor filesystem usage and perform appropriate actions for disk-space-related alerts.
- Respond to monitoring alerts, investigate issues, and take appropriate actions within defined SLAs.
- Create, update, and manage incidents and service requests using JIRA.
- Monitor and troubleshoot workloads running on GCP and GKE/Kubernetes.
- Troubleshoot pods,
deployments, services, container restarts, and application availability issues.
Requirements
- Intermediate Linux/Unix administration and troubleshooting skills.
- Hands-on understanding of physical and virtual Linux VMs.
- Knowledge of Linux processes, services, permissions, filesystem management, disk utilization, and logs.
- Knowledge of cron jobs, crontab, and scheduled task troubleshooting.
- Intermediate MySQL and SQL knowledge.
- Understanding of networking concepts such as IP, DNS, ports, TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS.
- Intermediate Git/GitHub knowledge.
- Understanding of monitoring, incident management, troubleshooting, and escalation processes.
- Good communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a 24/7 rotational shift workplace.
