Mahatma Gandhi College of Nursing, Sikar invites applications for the position of Librarian. The selected candidate will manage the nursing college library and support students and faculty with reliable access to books, journals, digital resources, and academic reference material.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage the day-to-day functioning of the nursing college library and reading room.
- Catalogue, classify, accession, issue, return, and preserve books, journals, and other learning resources.
- Maintain accurate circulation, stock, membership, and procurement records.
- Assist students and faculty in locating nursing, medical, research, and reference material.
- Manage subscriptions, e-resources, databases, and library software where applicable.
- Conduct periodic stock verification and report lost, damaged, or outdated material.
- Coordinate the purchase of books and journals based on curriculum and faculty requirements.
- Maintain the library in accordance with institutional and applicable nursing-education standards.




- Promote disciplined and effective use of the library and support academic activities.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Library and Information Science (B.Lib.I.Sc./B.Lib.Sc.) from a recognized institution; Master's degree is preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience in an academic, nursing, medical, or institutional library is preferred.
- Knowledge of cataloguing, classification, circulation, stock verification, and digital library resources.
- Comfortable using computers, MS Office, and library-management software.
- Good communication, organization, and record-keeping skills.
