Organisation: People for Animals Public Policy Foundation [PFA-PPF]

PFA-PPF is the policy and research organisation founded by Smt. Gauri Maulekhi, an accomplished animal welfare expert. It works with the objective of impacting the lives of animals in India by being a part of policy reform and setting up systems which are sustainable and humane through research and capacity building.

The candidate will be working closely with Ms. Gauri Maulekhi, Founder and Trustee of PFA-PPF and her team members.

Qualifications:

- Must have completed a three-years or five-years LLB.
- Possessing 2+ years of experience in practising law in the Supreme Court, Delhi High Court and National Green Tribunal and briefing Senior Counsels.
- Must be proficient in Hindi and English.

Experience:

- Drafting, vetting and filing of petitions, counter affidavits, rejoinders, convenience compilations and other legal documents.
- Briefing and assisting Senior Counsels.
- Appearance and assistance in court proceedings before the Supreme Court, High Court, District Courts and Tribunals.
- Experienced in legal drafting, conducting research work and filing and management of cases.
- Proficient in SCCOnline and other databases for legal research.

Remuneration:



Subject to negotiation

Responsibilities:

- Drafting, vetting and filing of petitions, counter affidavits, rejoinders, convenience compilations and other legal documents.
- Drafting briefing notes, briefing and assisting Senior Advocates.
- Meeting with Government Officers and drafting policy documents from time to time.
- Working in coordination with external counsels, including offices of Senior Counsels.
- Research related to animal protection laws, food safety laws, environmental laws and other allied laws.

Location: Green Park, Delhi. The candidate must be based out of Delhi NCR and must be willing to travel outside Delhi to attend and assist in significant meetings with Government officials and court hearings from time to time if required.
