Lead GCP Platform Engineer

Location: Bangalore

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead GCP Platform Engineer to join our team in Bangalore. In this role, you will lead Greenfield cloud initiatives and be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable, secure, and highly available Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments. You will work closely with development, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to drive cloud adoption, automation, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

- Support application deployments across Development, Testing, UAT, Pre-Production, and Production environments.
- Design, develop, and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
- Build, manage, and optimize CI/CD pipelines for UI and API applications.
- Implement and maintain code quality standards using static code analysis tools such as SonarQube.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex GCP infrastructure and platform-related issues.
- Create, update, and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with frontend, backend, and DevOps teams to support cloud platform requirements.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and provide regular progress updates.
- Coordinate with onsite platform engineering teams for planning, execution, and task management.
- Drive cloud platform best practices, automation, security, and reliability initiatives.
- Stay current with emerging GCP technologies, services, and industry trends.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science,



Information Technology, or a related field.
- 7+ years of overall IT experience with at least 3+ years of hands-on experience in Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Strong experience with Docker and containerization technologies.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and SonarQube.
- Proficiency in Bash/Shell scripting and Groovy scripting for Jenkins automation.
- Strong understanding of YAML and JSON configurations.

Collaboration & Tools

- Experience with Atlassian tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket.
- Strong communication, documentation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced Agile environment.

Preferred Qualifications

- GCP Certifications such as Professional Cloud Architect or Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer.
- Experience with Apigee API Management and Microservices Architecture.
- Knowledge of build tools such as NPM and Gradle.
- Experience with Akamai integration.
- Familiarity with Dynatrace, Cloud Logging, and Cloud Monitoring.
- Experience working in Hybrid Cloud environments (On-Premises and GCP).
