**Job Title: Subject Matter Expert (SME) - Fixed Access Network

**Job Purpose:

As a Subject Matter Expert, you are responsible for maintaining and supporting access networks like HFC and FTTH across customer operations. The SME plays a pivotal role in establishing network engineering guidelines and standards for deploying, operating, and maintaining customer access networks.

**Key Responsibilities:

- Deploy, configure, upgrade, modify, and retire access platform elements.
- Develop and maintain access platform standards and operational practices, integrating industry best practices.
- Lead engineering efforts on access platform implementation projects and handovers to Local Operations.
- Conduct access platform surveys and audits.
- Supervise all customer network elements and ensure compliance with customer quality standards.
- Create and review detailed configuration procedures (MOPs).
- Configure, integrate, and verify access platform elements.
- Maintain access platform administration records, diagrams, and configurations.
- Manage and control access platform resources and capacity.
- Assess and maintain access network service continuity, performance, and quality.
- Provide operational support for major access network incidents as requested.
- Create and maintain troubleshooting and repair procedures.
- Identify service analysis and diagnostics tools and methods.
- Lead access platform disaster recovery and restoration efforts.
- Lead technical discussions and solutions with vendors, suppliers, and technology manufacturers.
- Perform other duties as requested by your supervisor. **Knowledge Experience: *Preferred Education/Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Industry and vendor-specific certifications and training in Access Networks (e.g., Commscope, Nokia, Viavi, etc.).
- Expert-level experience with Access Networks, particularly in capacity management and operations.




- Expert-level experience with Access Network Platforms, including Serassure, Viavi, EMS, FAN, ACS.
- Advanced knowledge of HFC and DAA access networks.

- Advanced knowledge of FTTH access networks. *At least 8 years of relevant qualified experience:
- Expert-level proficiency in large-scale access networks (Cisco, Commscope, Huawei, Nokia, Adtran).
- Advanced knowledge of access network architecture, topology, planning, design, and implementation.

- Expert knowledge of optical network transport technologies: ROADM, DWDM, OTN switching (G.709), GMPLS, SDN, Ethernet.
- Experience in writing MOPs, BOMs, HLD, LLD, engineering as-built documentation, Engineering Book, IP Books.
- Experience with access network deployments across multiple geographies and with third-party vendors.

- Proven experience in project management techniques, including planning, resource allocation, prioritization, and escalation within an international telecom/service provider environment.
- Knowledge of data networks, broadband, and fixed access platforms. Skills Abilities:
