URGENT: Third Party Contract Long Term Lead Mechanical Commissioning Engineer for Mumbai Office & Offshore Northwestern Europe

- Requirement: Long term Third-Party Contractual Requirement (through Zeppelin)
- Position Title: Lead Mechanical Commissioning Engineer - Mumbai office and Offshore Northwestern Europe
- Work Location: Mumbai Office and Offshore Northwestern Europe
- Total Contract Duration: - 2 to 3 Years
- Project Details: High Voltage Direct Current Offshore Substation Project
- Expected Mobilization: 15-Oct-2026

Position Summary The Lead Mechanical Engineer (Commissioning) is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing commissioning activities for mechanical systems in offshore wind projects. This includes pumps, cranes, rotating equipment, safety equipment and process systems, ensuring secure, efficient, and timely handover to operations in compliance with project and regulatory requirements. Qualifications & Experience:

- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering 12 - 15 years of oil & gas or offshore wind project experience with 5+ years in commissioning leadership
- Offshore project experience preferred

Key Responsibilities:

1. Commissioning Planning & Execution

- Develop and implement commissioning strategies, procedures, and schedules
- Oversee pre-commissioning and commissioning activities including flushing, alignment, leak testing, and functional testing
- Ensure systems are ready for energization, startup, and performance testing

2. Rotating Equipment:





- Supervise installation checks, alignment verification, lubrication, and preservation
- Lead motor solo runs, MTDC (direction check), and performance testing
- Ensure compliance with OEM requirements

3. Cranes & Material Handling Systems:

- Lead commissioning of offshore cranes, winches, and lifting equipment
- Coordinate load testing, safety validation, and functional verification
- Ensure compliance with lifting standards

4. Process Systems:

- Commission piping systems, valves, and utilities
- Perform flushing, hydrotesting, and reinstatement
- Participate in system walkdowns and punch clearance

5. Interface & Coordination:

- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (E&I;, process, HVAC)
- Manage vendors, subcontractors, and client interfaces
- Act as focal point for OEM representatives

6. Documentation & Reporting:

- Review commissioning procedures and reports
- Compile MC and pre-commissioning dossiers
- Provide progress reports

7. HSE & Quality:

- Ensure compliance with HSE policies and PTW systems
- Conduct risk assessments (HAZID, HAZOP, Bowtie)
- Ensure adherence to project specifications

8. Required Skills:

- Knowledge of API, ISO, IEC standards
- Experience with MC systems like ICAPS/PIMS/Co-console
- Strong leadership and communication skills
