Role Description

We are looking for an experienced Cypress Automation Test Engineer with 6+ years of overall testing experience and strong hands-on expertise in designing, developing, and maintaining automation solutions using Cypress.

The ideal candidate should have strong proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript, experience in frontend and backend testing, REST API validation, database testing, and CI/CD integration. The candidate should also possess solid debugging, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities and be comfortable working within an Agile/Scrum delivery environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts using Cypress.
- Develop scalable and reusable automation frameworks and test components.
- Perform frontend and backend functional testing, including manual testing when required.
- Perform REST API testing using Cypress and/or Postman.
- Validate backend data and application functionality using SQL queries.
- Analyze test execution results, identify defects, and perform root-cause analysis.
- Debug automation failures and work closely with development teams to resolve application and test-related issues.
- Integrate automated test suites with CI/CD pipelines.
- Manage automation code and test assets using Git/Bitbucket.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, grooming, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Collaborate with developers, product owners,



business analysts, and other QA team members to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
- Identify opportunities to improve test automation coverage, execution efficiency, and overall product quality.

Mandatory Skills & Experience

- Minimum 6+ years of experience in software testing / quality engineering.
- Solid hands-on experience with Cypress automation testing.
- Strong programming/scripting skills in JavaScript or TypeScript.
- Good experience in frontend and backend manual testing.
- Experience with REST API testing using Cypress and/or Postman.
- Good knowledge of SQL and experience performing database validations.
- Hands-on experience with Git and/or Bitbucket for version control.
- Experience integrating and executing automated tests through at least one CI/CD platform such as:
- Jenkins
- Azure DevOps
- GitHub Actions
- GitLab CI/CD

- Good understanding of Agile/Scrum methodology.
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and collaboration skills.

Good to Have / Preferred Skills
- Experience with Playwright automation testing.
- Experience working on projects within the Retail domain.
- Experience developing or enhancing automation frameworks.
- Exposure to end-to-end testing involving UI, API, and database layers.
