Role Description As a Lead Golang Engineer at Shuru, you will design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend services and APIs using Go, contributing to scalable, secure, and reliable distributed systems. You will lead technical design discussions, review code, and mentor engineers, ensuring best practices in software architecture, testing, and DevOps are consistently applied. The role involves close collaboration with product managers, architects, and cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions, with a strong focus on performance optimization, observability, and resilience.





You will be responsible for driving improvements in engineering processes, tooling, and documentation, while advocating for AI-native and contemporary engineering approaches across projects. This is a full-time remote role, requiring proactive communication, ownership of deliverables, and the ability to work effectively with globally distributed teams.

Qualifications

- Strong proficiency in Golang for backend development, including experience with microservices, REST/gRPC APIs, and concurrent programming.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure), containerization (Docker), and orchestration tools (Kubernetes) for deploying and scaling services.
- Solid understanding of system design, distributed systems, caching, messaging queues, and databases (SQL and NoSQL) for high-traffic applications.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, monitoring, and logging tools to ensure reliability, performance, and observability.
- Demonstrated ability to lead engineering teams, mentor developers, conduct code reviews, and drive technical decision-making.
- Strong problem-solving skills, clear communication, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders in a remote, distributed environment.
- Background in building large-scale products or platforms; exposure to AI/ML-driven or data-intensive systems is a plus.
