Role: Lead Compose Multiplatform Developer

Role Summary

We are seeking a Lead Mobile/Platform Engineer to architect and drive the next generation of our cross-platform applications using Compose Multiplatform (CMP). In this role, you will be the primary technical authority for our Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) strategy, leading architecture decisions, defining cross-platform guidelines, and mentoring engineers transitioning into the CMP ecosystem.

This position requires a seasoned engineer with deep expertise in Kotlin and native Android (Jetpack Compose), or a senior iOS engineer (Swift/SwiftUI) with a proven track record of cross-platform adoption and high-level architectural oversight.

Key Responsibilities

- Architectural Leadership & Ownership Define and maintain end-to-end multiplatform architecture using Clean Architecture principles. Own the overall app stability, performance, and code quality across Android, iOS, Desktop, and Web targets.
- Compose Multiplatform Engineering Lead the design of shared, declarative UI systems and shared core business logic (KMP/CMP). Standardize state management, navigation patterns, and custom UI components across platforms.
- Native Interoperability & Platform Strategy Bridge CMP shared modules with platform-specific native APIs (Objective-C/Swift interop for iOS, JNI/Android SDK, and C-interop where necessary). Ensure non-negotiable native performance, memory safety, and platform-native look-and-feel.
- Engineering Standards & CI/CD Pipelines Establish modern build pipelines, test automation, modularization strategies, and Gradle optimization (Kotlin DSL, Version Catalogs). Lead code reviews,



enforce strict architectural boundaries, and set performance benchmarks.
- Technical Mentorship & Capability Building Guide and upskill mid-level and junior engineers. Help native Android and iOS developers transition smoothly into Kotlin Multiplatform and declarative paradigm patterns.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner directly with Product Managers, UX Designers, and Backend Architects to evaluate tech stack feasibility, scope features, and translate complex product requirements into robust tech specs.

Technical Requirements
- Experience: 6+ years of professional mobile software engineering experience, with at least 1+ years focused on production Kotlin Multiplatform / Compose Multiplatform or large-scale cross-platform architecture.
- Core Mastery: Deep expertise in Kotlin, Coroutines, and Flow for reactive/asynchronous programming.
- UI Paradigms: Expert knowledge of Jetpack Compose (and CMP equivalents), including custom layout rendering, animation performance, and state preservation.
- Architectural Expertise: Proven track record implementing Clean Architecture, MVI/MVVM, Repository Patterns, and modular monorepos or multi-module gradle setups.
- Build System & Tooling: Advanced mastery of Gradle (Kotlin DSL), Version Catalogs,



multi-target compilation, and automated CI/CD workflows (GitHub Actions, Bitrise, App Center).
- Cross-Platform Interop: Hands-on experience integrating shared Kotlin code with Swift/Objective-C frameworks, SPM (Swift Package Manager), or CocoaPods for iOS deployment.
- Testing & Quality: Strong knowledge of multiplatform unit testing, mock engines (Ktor client mocking, Mockative), and UI UI/snapshot testing techniques.
- Version Control: Advanced Git workflows (trunk-based development, complex branching strategies, merge conflict resolution in multi-module environments).

Requirements for iOS-First Senior Leads
- 6+ years of native iOS engineering experience with Swift and SwiftUI.
- Experience with Swift-Kotlin interop strategies, SPM, and Xcode build settings.
- Robust willingness and demonstrated capability to lead cross-functional codebases in Kotlin/CMP.

Key Differentiators / Nice-to-Have
- Production deployment experience targeting Desktop (JVM) or Compose for Web (Wasm/JS).
- Active contributions to open-source Kotlin Multiplatform libraries or CMP community tools.
- Experience with cross-platform memory management nuances (e.g., K/N garbage collector behavior).
- Background in native performance profiling (Instruments, Android Studio Profiler, LeakCanary).
