Role & responsibilities :

JOB PURPOSE

Responsible for designing and developing high-performance PCB layouts and libraries, while mentoring junior engineers. Ensures PCB designs meet signal integrity, power integrity, thermal, and EMI/EMC requirements. Leads end-to-end PCB lifecycle including schematic symbol creation, library management, manufacturing data generation, and coordination with PCB fabricators and assemblers.

Apply advanced expertise in HDI, high-speed, and mixed-signal designs to deliver robust, manufacturable, and error-free PCB solutions, while promoting a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and adherence to industry standards (IPC/IEEE)

1. PCB Layout & High-Speed Design

- Independently create complex PCB layouts for mixed-signal and high-speed designs, including DDR5, and multi-Gigabit serial interfaces.
- Implement high-speed design practices such as controlled impedance routing, back drilling, HDI routing, fine-pitch BGA, and stack-up selection.
- Incorporate thermal management and EMI/EMC guidelines into PCB design.
- Work with simulation engineers to validate and optimize high-speed and high-density PCB designs.
- Convergent with todays market tool change and adapt with current concept.
- Responsible for developing PCB layout as per IPC2221.

2. Cross-Functional Collaboration

- Collaborate with hardware, mechanical, simulation engineers and manufacturing teams to ensure PCB layouts meet SI/PI, thermal, and EMI/EMC requirements.
- Coordinate with EMS providers, PCB fabricators, and in-house manufacturing teams to optimize design for production.

3. Technical Review & Quality Assurance

- Identify design inconsistencies, potential violations, and errors such as spacing violations, incorrect footprints, or rule breaches before manufacturing.
- Recommend corrective actions and oversee their implementation to prevent costly rework or production delays.
- Perform in-depth technical reviews of designs to ensure accuracy, compliance,



and high quality of deliverables.
- Identify and resolve PCB assembly issues including soldering defects, component placement errors, and thermal concerns.
- Responsible for respective stakeholder reviews to ensure the design/layout quality.

4. Library & Schematic Management

- Responsible for reviewing and approving the schematic symbols, footprints, and part libraries in compliance with IEEE and IPC-7351 standards.
- Responsible to manage component library through efficient resource planning.
- Responsible for working out specifications for complex library creation, component management, and version control.
- Responsible for continuous process improvement to meet the design expectations.

5. Manufacturing Data Generation & Expertise

- Generate production data including Gerber, stencil, pick-and-place, and in-circuit test data.
- Apply knowledge of soldering processes (wave, SMT, selective) and manufacturing constraints to ensure PCB manufacturability.
- Apply advanced expertise in DFX and ensure design validated as per DFM, DFA & DFT.
- Responsible for collaborating with manufacturer and assembly plant to ensure the design quality.

6. Process Adherence & Continuous Improvement

- Follow established guidelines, checklists, and IPC standards (IPC-2221, IPC- 7351) to produce error-free designs.
- Promote process improvement, knowledge sharing, and implementation of innovative design practices.

7. Team Mentoring & Leadership

- Mentor junior engineers in PCB design practices, tools, and standards.
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor team efforts to deliver high-density, complex PCBs.

Preferred candidate profile a) Qualifications

- Minimum Qualification required: B tech/BE in Electronics
- Qualifications preferred: M Tech in Electronics, IPC certification

b) Work Experience

- Minimum 8 years of experience in automotive industry
- Knowledge of tools like ALTIUM V25, Keysight, Valor NPI, Hyper Lynx and MS Office
- ience in automotive products like IVI (In-Vehicle Infotainment), ADAS, DMS and Lighting
