1. Job Summary

The Laser Cutting & CNC Bending Machine Operator will be responsible for operating CNC laser cutting and CNC press brake bending machines for sheet-metal fabrication. The operator will ensure accurate cutting, bending, dimensional accuracy and quality of fabricated components as per approved drawings and production requirements.

1. Key ResponsibilitiesA. CNC Laser Cutting Machine

- Operate CNC fiber laser cutting machine for sheet-metal components.
- Read and understand engineering drawings, fabrication drawings and cutting layouts.
- Load and unload sheet-metal materials safely.
- Verify material grade, thickness and dimensions before processing.
- Load appropriate cutting programs and verify program parameters.
- Set cutting parameters such as power, speed, gas pressure and focus as per material and thickness.
- Monitor the machine during operation and identify cutting abnormalities.
- Inspect cut components for dimensional accuracy, edge quality, burrs and defects.
- Perform basic nozzle, lens and machine cleaning/maintenance as required.
- Minimize material wastage through proper nesting and sheet utilization.
- Report machine breakdowns, alarms and technical problems to the supervisor.

B. CNC Press Brake / Bending Machine
- Operate CNC press brake bending machines for sheet-metal components.
- Read and understand bending drawings and flat-pattern drawings.
- Select and install appropriate punches and dies.
- Set bending parameters, back gauge and bending sequence.
- Set bend angle, bend allowance and other required parameters.




- Perform trial bending and verify dimensions before batch production.
- Ensure correct bend angle, dimensions and orientation of components.
- Carry out multi-bend components accurately as per drawings.
- Monitor tool condition and report damaged or worn-out tooling.
- Ensure proper handling and stacking of finished components.

1. Quality Control

- Check dimensions using measuring instruments such as:
- Vernier caliper
- Measuring tape
- Micrometer
- Angle gauge / protractor
- Height gauge, where applicable
- Ensure components conform to approved drawings and tolerances.
- Identify and segregate defective components.
- Maintain inspection records where required.
- Ensure first-piece approval before batch production.
- Coordinate with the Quality and Production teams regarding dimensional issues.

1. Sheet Metal Knowledge

Candidate should have basic knowledge of:
- MS / CRCA / GI / SS sheet materials.
- Different sheet thicknesses.
- Sheet-metal cutting and bending processes.
- Bend allowance and bend deduction.
- K-factor – basic understanding.
- Flat pattern development.
- Press brake tooling.
- Laser cutting parameters.
- Material nesting and scrap reduction.
- Basic fabrication practices.

1. Machine Maintenance

- Perform routine machine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance.
- Maintain cleanliness around the machine.
- Check consumables, nozzles, tools and other accessories.
- Ensure proper lubrication and housekeeping as per machine requirements.
- Report abnormal machine noise, vibration, alarms or performance issues.




- Follow machine manufacturer's operating and safety procedures.

1. Safety Responsibilities

- Follow all factory and machine safety procedures.
- Use required PPE such as safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses and other protective equipment.
- Follow safe material loading/unloading practices.
- Ensure sheets are handled using appropriate lifting equipment when required.
- Do not operate machines without proper authorization.
- Follow electrical and machine isolation procedures during maintenance.
- Maintain a clean and obstruction-free working area.

1. Educational Qualification

ITI – Fitter / Machinist / Turner / Sheet Metal preferred. Diploma in Mechanical / Production Engineering will be an advantage.

1. Experience

2–5 years of relevant experience in:

- CNC Laser Cutting
- Fiber Laser Cutting
- CNC Press Brake
- Sheet Metal Fabrication
- Electrical Panel Enclosure Manufacturing

Experience with sheet-metal electrical panel manufacturing will be preferred.

1. Required Skills

- Ability to read engineering and fabrication drawings.
- Good knowledge of CNC machine operation.
- Basic knowledge of CNC programming and program selection.
- Knowledge of laser cutting and press brake machine settings.
- Positive dimensional inspection skills.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Good attention to detail.
- Ability to meet production schedules.
- Good housekeeping and safety practices.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
