Role & responsibilities:

- Modernize Unit Ops labs using Industrial IoT, smart sensors, PLC/SCADA, edge computing, digital twins, and AI-driven analytics for Chemical Engineering Department of IIT Kanpur
- Establish and manage an Innovation & Tinkering Lab (embedded systems, AI/IoT prototyping, additive manufacturing, cyber-physical systems)
- Set up and manage departmental HPC/GPU infrastructure, containerized environments, and job scheduling; optimize workflows for AI/ML, CFD, molecular simulation, bioinformatics
- Design and maintain smart hybrid teaching spaces, AI-assisted lecture capture, DRM content, and LMS integration
- Drive digital transformation/automation of academic, research, finance, lab, and admin workflows
- Conduct training, workshops, hackathons,



and outreach programs
- Prepare and implement grant proposals for digital/computational infrastructure
- Manage procurement under GoI/GFR rules via GeM, tendering, and vendor finalization
- Other duties as assigned by Head of Department

Preferred candidate profile :

- Experience writing computational research-infrastructure grants
- Working knowledge of ISO/IEC 27001-aligned IT governance and data protection
- Proficiency in cybersecurity, cloud computing, and secure web app/dashboard development
