Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Lab Technician / Lab Incharge to manage day-to-day laboratory activities, testing and quality evaluation of materials and finished products. Candidates with experience in automotive manufacturing, especially car seat manufacturing, will be preferred.

Roles & Responsibilities

- Manage day-to-day activities of the laboratory and ensure timely completion of testing.
- Conduct testing and inspection of raw materials, components, fabrics, foam, trims and finished products as per applicable specifications and standards.
- Perform physical, dimensional and functional tests as required.
- Maintain proper records of all test results, inspection reports and laboratory documents.
- Ensure laboratory equipment and testing instruments are properly maintained, calibrated and in working condition.
- Coordinate with Quality, Production and other departments regarding testing requirements and quality issues.
- Analyse test results and report deviations/non-conformities to the concerned department.
- Support investigation of product/material quality issues and assist in identifying root causes.
- Ensure testing is carried out according to approved test methods, customer specifications and internal quality standards.




- Monitor availability of laboratory consumables, chemicals and other required materials.
- Coordinate with external laboratories for testing and certification, when required.
- Prepare and maintain laboratory records, test reports and documentation for audits.
- Support internal, customer and external audits related to laboratory activities.
- Ensure compliance with applicable automotive quality and safety requirements.
- Train and guide junior laboratory staff, where applicable.

Candidate Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Mechanical, Automobile, Production, Textile, Chemistry or a related field, depending on the testing requirements.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing laboratory/quality testing environment.
- Experience in the automotive industry is preferred.
- Experience in car seat/automotive seating manufacturing will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of material and product testing methods.
- Good understanding of test specifications, inspection procedures and quality documentation.
- Knowledge of laboratory equipment, calibration and maintenance.
- Good analytical, documentation and reporting skills.
- Basic knowledge of MS Excel and MS Office.
- Valuable communication and coordination skills.
- Candidates who can independently handle laboratory activities will be preferred.
- Candidates residing in and around Sriperumbudur are preferred.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
