Lab Technician – Embedded & IoT Lab

Job Summary

Looking for a Lab Technician to support the operations of the Embedded & IoT Lab at the R&D; Centre. The candidate will assist with laboratory activities, student projects, faculty research, equipment maintenance, and technical troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate and maintain the Embedded Systems, IoT, Robotics, DSP, and Communication laboratories.
- Set up and test development boards, sensors, actuators, and communication modules.
- Support faculty in research projects, consultancy activities, and industry-sponsored projects.
- Assist students with mini-projects, major projects, innovation activities, prototypes, and competitions.
- Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment, electronic circuits, and project setups.
- Maintain laboratory equipment registers, inventory, maintenance records, and other documentation.
- Ensure the laboratory is ready for practical sessions, workshops, training programs, inspections, and accreditation visits.
- Assist with PCB assembly, soldering, circuit testing, debugging, and hardware interfacing.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and safe operation of laboratory equipment.
- Coordinate equipment servicing and repairs whenever required.

Required Technical Skills
- Knowledge of Arduino, ESP32, Raspberry Pi, MSP430, and Tiva C or similar development boards.
- Knowledge of sensors, actuators, and electronic components.
- Familiarity with Wi-Fi, BLE, ZigBee, LoRa, RF,



and other communication modules.
- Basic programming knowledge in C, C , and Python.
- Familiarity with Arduino IDE and embedded development environments.
- Understanding of electronic circuits, PCB assembly, soldering, debugging, and testing.
- Hands-on knowledge of oscilloscope, digital multimeter, power supply, and signal generator.

Qualification
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in ECE, EEE, EIE, IT, Computer Science, or related disciplines.
- Candidates with hands-on experience in Embedded Systems, IoT, Robotics, Electronics, or Communication Labs will be preferred.
- Freshers with relevant practical knowledge may also apply.

Work Requirements The candidate should be flexible to work beyond regular working hours and on Sundays, whenever required for research projects, workshops, competitions, training programs, project demonstrations, or other R&D; laboratory activities.
