About the Role
We are looking for a Science Lab Assistant to support the smooth functioning of the school's science laboratories and assist facilitators and students during practical and experimental learning. The role involves preparing laboratory materials, maintaining equipment and ensuring that experiments and activities are conducted safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Laboratory Support
- Prepare and arrange laboratory equipment, materials, chemicals and other resources required for experiments and practical sessions.
- Assist teachers/facilitators and students during laboratory activities and experiments.
- Ensure laboratory equipment and materials are properly stored, maintained and readily available.
Safety & Maintenance
- Follow and maintain laboratory safety procedures and protocols.
- Ensure the lab is clean, organized and safe for students and staff.
- Monitor the condition of equipment and report damaged or missing items.
- Maintain proper records of laboratory materials, equipment and stock.
Inventory Management
- Maintain and update laboratory inventory and consumable records.
- Monitor stock levels and inform the relevant team when materials need to be replenished.
- Assist with receiving, organizing and storing laboratory supplies.
Collaboration
- Coordinate with Science Facilitators to understand requirements for upcoming practical sessions.
- Support preparation for demonstrations, experiments, projects and science activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Science / relevant discipline.
- 0–2 years of experience in a laboratory, school, college, research lab or similar environment.
- Basic understanding of laboratory equipment, materials and safety practices.
- Valuable organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with students and support practical learning activities.
- Freshers with relevant educational background and a strong interest in laboratory work may also apply.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
